Screen not shifting from vertical to horizontal

Recently my ipad stopped shifting the view when I turn it - it stays vertical always. And this makes a # of things harder (e.g. surfing the web, watching movies).

Any ideas for how to fix this?

Did you update to the newest version?

If so, double click the home button, and swipe the little menu bar that comes up all the way to the left. See if the little rotation lock is selected.

If you still have the older version, there is a little switch above your volume control on the right side of the iPad. Flip that switch.
