Settings Icon missing

Suddenly settings icon in my iPad is missing. I tried all methods given in the various forums. When type Settings in the Spotlight, nothing happens. This is not in this iPad but my grand daughters.
Will you please help me. I am in Milwaukee.

Hello and welcome to the forum! :) First, do you mean the icon shown in the pic below (from my iPad's Home screen)? Second, please provide the model of your granddaughter's iPad and the iOS installed. Finally, have you tried to 'Reset' the iPad? If not, hold down both the HOME & ON-OFF buttons until the Apple logo appears, release, and allow the device to reboot - see if the icon reappears. Good luck - Dave

P.S. if still an issue, then google "ios settings icon has disappeared" and look at some hits.

Interesting.
Settings is one of the few built in apps that can’t be removed. It should be on a homescreen or in a folder. Usually it should be possible to find it via Spotlight Search.

Take a look at your dock (at the bottom of the homescreen), every homescreen and folder.

Well, I have to agree w/ Johanna - your comment that the reboot did nothing is curious - try again and make sure that you hold down BOTH buttons for 10 seconds or more until the Apple logo appears - let us know. Dave :)

The only thing I can think of the "might" cause the Settings icon to disappear is if the iPad is being admistered by her school or buisiness. Even then, it seems unlikely. While it is possible for a managment policy to block certain settings and features, I've never heard of them removing the Settings icon alltogether.

Good news. I went through iTunes through my laptop and enabled the icon settings and reset the iPad. Now I am happy. It is working well. Thanks the forum for their valuable concern and suggestions.
