After Apple launched the Retina enabled iPad, the task of finding appropriate and aesthetically pleasing wallpaper for your tablet proved to be more and more difficult. This is not the case anymore, as this week the 2048pixels website was launched, providing artsy tablet users with high resolution artwork perfect for the improved capabilities of the new iPad.
The art available on 2048pixel has been designed by some of the most talented digital artists working today. Additionally, the site can also be seen as a platform for struggling artists who are trying to make it. What’s special about this website is that it was created strictly for the Retina Display. The interface turns out to be very intuitive as users can swipe right to left or left to right in order to browse the materials present on the website. When something that is liked is found, a simple tapping will showcase the full wallpaper. On this page, one will find a button for downloading the art and a button for social media sharing.
Another interesting feature the website offers is that users can customize the experience. Art lovers will be able to modify the available themes. One example is that you can change color depth or luminosity. Textures and effects can also be added so users can enhance the appearance of the chosen theme to their own liking.
To be kept up to date with the gorgeous themes uploaded daily to the website, users can subscribe to the site’s RSS feed as well.
