The "Anything Goes" thread

I just heard another Red Arrows pilot has died. The Hawk plane was on the ground and the ejector seat was used. The glass was seen shattered. Poor guy. My condolences to the parents. They are amazing flyers and I often see them over Yeovilton.

I'm mad. I bought 4 book apps from iceberg reader, Scrollmotion and now due to the ios5 update they are not updating my books so now they are obsolete! Outrageous! Where do we stand when that happens? Is it a case of ca la vie! anyone? Suggestions? Do I complain to Apple? These are books that I'm now unable to read. No way of transferring to laptop or emailing! Is this the future. This is what could put me off of ebooks. Paper books don't disappear or become obsolete. Xxxxxxxx

That's not good enough. Do you still have your receipts for the purchases? Contact Apple and ask for a refund. I've heard of others doing this for apps, can't remember the details though. But the apps were not performing as promised. Yours certainly aren't now. But you need the transaction number. Good luck!!

I hate to say you are wrong chays but you do in the mountain areas. We had a farm near Pietermaritzburg, near the Drakensberg mountains and one year it snowed! We have proof. Photos of the dogs and cats and ourselves throwing snowballs. It was an unusual event, I'll give you that but it still snowed! Thanks for reminding me of my days living on the farm. Special days of my childhood. I loved the life apart from having to spend the week in school hostel and weekends at home. We had horses too so obviously that was my first horse too! His name was Sunshine, a strawberry roan colour. I have had horses ever since.

I'm constantly hold about that day, problem is I wants even born....
Pleasure, so when you immigrating back :P

No hope of that, not in the near future anyway. As I said before, my brother, cousins etc... still live there so maybe a holiday one day. The way the country is going at the moment, I'm not sure I'd want to live there. Talk about reverse apartheid. Nuff said as its not allowed. I do miss SA though. The weather was hot but I hate the winters over here and probably why I love Xmas as its the only way I get through winter.

That's sucks... Well I'm sure it seems worse when you look in, but living here, you become desensitized to it.
I would love a white Christmas though.

Regards,
~Chays~

That is the one thing I love about over here! I remember eating Xmas meal in a pool in SA. we don't always get a white Xmas in Somerset but last year we had a good one! I'm hoping for more of the same. We didn't have to go to school for two or three days in January but we had to go in and clear the paths for the students before they came back the next day. Fun day for all of us teachers and staff as we had bacon butties and tea/coffee for lunch. First time that snow stopped the school buses! Extended our Xmas break somewhat.

Do you not have "too hot" days. I'm sure I remember being sent home as the kids wouldn't be able to work in the heat.

Sent home! Ha! Back in the day when I was no taller than a car fender, on hot days they'd send us out for recess and we'd roast mightily.
No AC, no fan, and no shorts allowed. Catholic school with nuns for teachers. No chance of any skin showing above an ankle. A short ankle at that.

Beautiful area Stellenbosch! The vineyards are awesome too! You can't beat our wine, can you? But then we are biased.
