Hello Lyndsey, I wondered when your hols begin? That's quite close to Xmas isn't it? We always break up a week before and go back a couple of days after New Year. The 4th of January in Somerset. We start beginning of September and this has been our Autumn term. January to about April is the Spring term and May to end of July is the summer term. These are split up with half term holidays. I think there are about 180-190 days of school and the rest in holiday time. USA seems to have more public holidays than us? What does USA have in the way of school/holiday days?

Hey guys I wanna have a little moan 
. I found out today that my boyfriends dad and sister think that I'm a scrounger :'-( its really upset me because I don't have a job( and I look for jobs every single day and am just having no luck at all) and so he pays for things and they both have pointed it out that they think I'm scrounging and taking the piss out of him. I never ask him for things, he is one of those guys that doesn't take no for an answer. I don't ask him for money or anything, he just insists on paying (like a gentleman). And having found that out, I got really upset and cried. I thought his sister and I were close and his dad has always been so lovely to me.
Moan over. Sorry guys I just needed to get it off my chest

The middle school I'm at has school through tomorrow the 22nd. The high school I'll be at in the spring even has school on Friday. They go back on the 2nd of January too. So very little break. We may have more holidays in the year but we end in June (first or second week). We have a spring break around Easter and have three day weekends sometimes around a holiday.Hayles66 said:
Unfortunately I'm not close with anyone in my family except my immediate. It's sad, cousins of mine don't even add me back as friends on Facebook. On Christmas Eve I'll be at my parents' house with my aunt and uncle, the only relatives I'm kind of close to. That's sad. I hope your boyfriend puts them straight.
Any chance of your doing some hours in a charity shop, or for Crisis? Good for the CV etc. Also to show you are not a layabout.

Children in my jurisdiction are required to do a minimum 40 hours of volunteer / community service work in order to graduate from high school.
