What's new

The "Anything Goes" thread

Oh well. I was hoping it would be simple.

No idea what's happening now. I'm not seeing it at all, but I do the majority of my general internet browsing on the computer, so I might just be lucky.

Sometimes a refresh will do, sometimes when I close and reopen Safari, it goes away for a while.
Yes, my tab situation is crazy. They're usually all iPF, I must have like two open from each thread I use because I click the links from my email and forget to close the tabs.

LoL--that's a leelai lunchbox!! Soo cool!! ;)

I did the cookie clearing twice, closed out my tabs and my apps. Did a restart and a reset also. Doesn't happen as much, but did happen again this morning.

Same here and it still does it. No matter what I do I still get the messed up jigsaw stuff. The thing is that it only happens on certain sites weird

It happens the most on m.youtube.com for me. It used to do it on iPF a lot, not too much now.

Do you think it's to do with they way in which different websites are put together. I remember reading way back that variations in screen configurations and Internet providers' set ups could upset how pages on certain websites are displayed.

I'm still finding iPF is slow in screen refreshes or will not refresh unless I tap the refresh button. This is when I am in the Subscribed Threads view.

I'm not aware of a setting to switch on auto refresh.

For those of you having problems with Safari, I thought this post on a genealogy thread for computer users would be interesting.

It's to do with Skype behaving strangely after computer software upgrades....

I am in the same boat. Windows XP worked fine for me. Windows 7,
difficulties. They tried to do a lot of fancy stuff with the mouse and
toolbars on Windows 7. You get your finger in just the wrong spot and
the machine does weird and unintended stuff. I am always doing this.
Drives me crazy. One of those things was I kept getting my home page
microscopic by accident. There should be a plus and a minus sign in the
upper left hand of your screen. If you click on the plus it should
enlarge your image. It's left of one of the tool bars. At one point that
tool bar disappeared from my screen also by accident. My husband found
the tool bar again, then I could do the enlarge operation. I'm on a
different machine so can't give you anything more exact. Hope this helps.

Is there some truth in the saying. If it ain't broke don't fix it! :)

Yes, I think Microsoft tries to make things better just because it can but doesn't succeed because there are too many conflicting commands which override each other. Looks like windows 8 will make everything much worse than it already is. Go figure. This is why I like Apple. It's simple, easy and anyone can understand it. Just like me! If I wanted to customise, I'd go to the dark side and eat cookies!!!!

This is why my IT department thinks XP is the best windows experience and this is why our council thinks windows 7 is the best thing since sliced bread. In other words, no choice, do as I say not as I do!!!!

Rant over!!!!!

Oh and while I am on this topic, guess what runs the whole kabush in our school? An Apple iMac. Ha ha ha. Talk about minority rules!

That's a possibility.
