The "Anything Goes" thread

That refers to the import folders, there are two for each group of imported photos. One folder for the photos in a specific import and the second folder that contains all the imported folders. Of course each photo is actually stored in only one location, the photo app. The photos in the folders are just bookmarks for that photo, just like photos you tale from the camera roll to,place in other folders are actually stored only in the camera roll.

Scifan has answered everything in his usual thorough fashion.

I find the connection kit useful. Downloads are fast.

However, I haven't seen the iPad screenful of thumbnails of the photos on the camera or SD card, as Scifan describes. I need to do some tinkering to discover this. At present, the connection options are like a "blunt instrument". Down load everything or delete everything on the camera or card!

What I do like is the appearance of folders which hold shortcuts to photos by the date taken.

I do use the facility to check and delete photos of my choosing from the camera roll, or chosen photo links in the folders.

All in all I have no regrets whatsoever in buying the connection kit. I guess you will be adding this to your shopping list for tomorrow's "Black Friday" discounts in the Apple stores, Skimonkey. ;)

Thank you, sci and Richard for the info! I have put that down as one of my gifts to ask from Santa now. :)

We are waking up to the news that Larry Hagman died yesterday afternoon.

Apart from his role as JR, I remember him in I Dream of Jeannie.

That's not good news to wake up to......loved him in I Dream of Jeannie

I guess I loved to dislike him as JR too......RIP

Good morning Hayles. The other news were have been seeing is about the floods in the western areas, and the loss of the old chap's life after his car was swept off a ford and into a bridge.

How are your extended family and yourself? Have you been affected by the floods?

Terrible news about Larry Hagman! I never missed an episode of I Dream of Jeannie. He was the guy we all loved to hate in Dallas. I watched that show every week as well.

Well! Hubby got caught up in traffic as a tree had uprooted on the way home from work. He landed up coming home an hour later. My daughters college bus got flooded. The floor of the bus was awash. Luckily they got through but she was 2 hours late. The roads around from the college were all flooded. I'm okay as we live on the hillside of a valley. The school resides on a hill and its only 3 miles from home. The only thing that stops us is, of course, the fallen tree. Really wet day for hubby today.

Hagman's best supporting role was his portrayal of the President's interpreter in the Cold War era movie "Fail - Safe" starring Henry Fonda &
Walter Matthau.

Here's a critical scene with Hagman.

That' s a Thought provoking clip from a film which I haven't seen, AA. It reminds me of Dr Strangelove and On the Beach.
