What's new

The "Anything Goes" thread

Ugh, I'm sick of my old MacBook right now. Won't let me back up my iPad even though I have 120 GB free. I tried this workaround involving Terminal where you can move the backups to an external hard drive, and of course I can't get it to work. I got all 100GBs of my iTunes library transferred, but now it's having trouble locating some if the files, so my iPod crashes when I try to play certain podcast episodes, and iTunes is telling me it encountered 100 problems when trying to sync because it couldn't located a ton of songs :(
Ugh, I just want to throw it out the window! :(

Have you looked for other threads or forums which could help you, Goofy?

I'm catching up on posts here.

Congrats on your new purchase, Scifan. You and the others are making me think..

My trusty PC is showing its age at times, creaking at the moment! It needs a good registry sort out. However, a new machine is an increasing possibility.... ;)

Well, that's what I did with my Toshiba laptop but it still wheezes, overheats, crashes (not so much) etc... I do envy you guys. A MacBook anything would be a dream for me. No mon, no fun as they say.

I synced my iPad mini with my MacBook Pro and it erased all my album cover art. How do I get it back? Also, I can't find out how to check on how much memory has been used on the MacBook.
Another problem I've noticed is that I can only access the upper portion of the pages in iTunes when I'm syncing the iPad. I can't scroll down the page to see the lower half.

To check the memory...click onto the apple icon in the upper left corner. Press about Mac.

Here's my first forum post from my new MackBook Pro.

You really need this decal. ;)

I'm probably teaching you how to suck eggs here, but with any Mac issues, the first thing I do is open the Utilities folder, go to Disk Utility (I think it's called) and work through the options for permissions and disk repair. Fixing permissions is always a good place to start.
