What's new

The "Anything Goes" thread

It was on BBC 4. All of our favourite people were on there. David Jason, David Attenborough, Miranda, John Cleese, Michael Parkinson, the chap from The Grey Whistle show, Barry ??, Penelope Keith, can't remember anyone else. Will get back to you.

Yes, thanks. I checked iPlayer and both of the celebratory programmes are greyed out. Hopefully they will become available soon. I need to check the BBC4 pages .....

I was interested to note that not a lot was said about Top Of The Pops. Really sad because it was iconic for me in my childhood and now BBC are hyper sensitive about talking about the show. They need to get over themselves and forget he was on there and talk about all the other DJ's who presented it.

This is what I found on the BBC4 web pages search result.

It was hosted by former BBC chairman Michael Grade, the programme included contributions from Sir David Attenborough, Sir Terry Wogan, Sir Michael Parkinson, Sir Bruce Forsyth, Sir David Jason, Penelope Keith and Ronnie Corbett. They were all a bit emotional and some were tearful.

Interesting. I didn't see such a message when I used the app just now. Found a cool pic too taken not that far away from your locale.

I just looked and saw no message like that as well. Here's the NASA app HD website. http://www.nasa.gov/centers/ames/iphone/nasa_app_hd.html

There's no mention about the app no longer being supported.

This is what I see when opening the app:

Perhaps it's only local.

Ah, well there you go,they have upgraded the App to Universal (for both iPad and iPhone) so all you need to do is follow the instructions on the pop-up box and install the new version.

I did yesterday. :-)
But I was used to this app. It's hard to give it up.

My latest discovery at a garage sale, and I have a bunch of these in a basket, vintage music box mechanisms !!! These were all free :)

A Commodore 64 a day keeps the Apple II away!

I guess that in this case, you have no choice, as it's not a stand alone app, but streams content from the NASA servers. This is what you see if you open the app while off-line.

I liked the old one, because it showed the solar system when you opened it. A beautiful sight!

I've still got the old version on my iPad. I just downloaded it yesterday, in fact. Here's a screenshot of the opening page, there was no pop up telling me the app was no longer supported.
