What's new

The "Anything Goes" thread

Yes, I'm going through loads at the moment! My school has made all of us redundant and we have to convince them that we are good enough to keep with fewer jobs. That's my life right now but thank you guys.

It's an egg with a leopard print! I love it. Thanks guys, sometimes you go through depression but TBH it's out of my hands until the end of the month!

Sorry to hear about your teaching job Hayley. Depressing how organisations are forever restructuring, rationalising and any other fancy word, that upsets peoples' lives. Hope things turn out well for you.

Hi everyone! Have fun AA! Wow you must be excited too! Never mind the kids!
Goofy,long time no see.
And Ricky! Deffo, long time no see!

Hi Hayley, great to hear from you, sorry to hear you are not working atm, know the feeling, i am in the same boat, several of us had to finish March 21st as our last day, no budget and 3 more fmr colleagues finish on the 28th, all had to be done before 1st April. Been doing some freelance work, helping 2 people sort out their tax forms, so got some cash there, apart from that nothing, so looking for a job. After 6.5 years i got the boot.

Does anyone know what the "S" stands for after the number of the iPhone? Thanks

Peace begins with a smile. :)

On a different note, here is the 2nd photo slide video i made on my mac iPhoto, the event was 100 Years Centenary of Aston Martin in Kensington Palace Gardens London, 2 min walk from Princess Diana's Residence. I have never seen so many Aston Martins in one place before. All the pictures are taken on my iPhone 4S. The first 3.50 is the parking lot, then the show begins, with the oldest Aston Martin moving chronologically to modern ones. Some concept cars, and James Bond 007 actual cars too from the movies. Enjoy:)

When we went to the car show here, the Aston Martins had their own special display with 007 banners everywhere and a guy dressed in a suit with a gun and a lady dressed up to kill! Gees wonder who they were?? :D

Yes i know, budget cuts and all, this been going on for over a year now, and while other people were laid off, the remained ones had to carry the burden, so in a way i be unhappy even if i was there working. Still looking for a new job.

So you and Hubby dressed up during the James Bond event, sound great and must have been fun and special :)

Gee thanks guys. I haven't been laid off yet but I have to go through an interview process to prove I'm good enough. Unfortunately the colleague I am up against is a newly qualified teacher!!!! Not much chance I'm thinking. She's looking for a job but few out there. Sorry to hear this Ricky. Holding thumbs for you fellow musketeer. Love to everyone.

I've heard of that happening a lot here also, we have some of our biggest Companies laying off huge numbers of workers, just makes you wonder how they can still stay afloat and operate on so many less staff. I guess time will tell.

Good luck with your job hunt, I hope it doesn't take too long!

Hubby and I would be too old for that type of gig, on second thoughts, hubby would be just right....I'd be too old! :O

There's always a chance Hayley and you're the one with all the experience and rapport with the kids! All the best!!

My interview is on Wednesday 23rd and they will let us all know on the Friday. Just hope it's a Good Friday. It's kind of ruined my whole Easter holiday though. I'm trying to look on the bright side being an optimist, you know half full kind of bunny but it pokes you in your dreams when you least expect it and when you wake up.

Anyway! What are all of you doing? I'm having a roast lamb for Monday. Can't wait! It's my favourite. (Although trying desperately not to think about the sacrifice behind that statement! Poor lamb!)
