Well they really did dodge a bullet here.....the cyclone hit landfall above major towns and then went inland and is heading south behind them.

It's also lessened in intensity.....still some damage but nowhere near what was thought.....

Not out of the fire yet though......now everyone is bracing for flooding.




I'm with you! I was always missing something if I forgot my camera and it was a chore to have to carry it all the time.

I use my iPhone also, it's much better than past cameras I've had so it's enough for me and does the job! It's just so much easier!

for very professional photography, a proper DSLR camera is a must, a phone camera will not match the quality, however the phone camera's are more then good enough, and they are getting better, say 10 years ago what we can do now was impossible, so in another couple years phone cameras will be even better then what they are now, so no reason for a casual photographer like me (and many others like me) to invest in a proper camera.

Aw, Haylee, it sounds like you've had a bad winter if you have high vet bills? I lost two chickens to old age and extreme cold. I might be getting some chickens who lay green eggs! Yes, I'm going through loads at the moment! My school has made all of us redundant and we have to convince them that we are good enough to keep with fewer jobs. That's my life right now but thank you guys.

It's an egg with a leopard print! I love it. Thanks guys, sometimes you go through depression but TBH it's out of my hands until the end of the month!

Haylee, this is so weird but you are the fifth person who has talked to me about teachers, education or lack of, thanks to all of these devices. It was even on our local news channel Tues night! It seems even babies have trouble sleeping after looking at an iPad , etc. And the governments of every country thinks eduction is expendable !!! The parents don't put limits on their kids, they have a sense of self entitlement, and all of the time they spend texting is creating this ubiquitous cyber-bullying!
Who the heck do they think will be running this country when they become of age?
Sorry for the rant everyone! It's just that I have heard the exact same complaints from teachers and parents in FOUR different countries in FOUR days!
How can education possibly be expendable at any level for any reason?and the best teachers are the ones who are run ragged where as the teachers that don't care just breeze through until they can retire!

Just downloaded my 3 day VIP pass to Ottawa Comic Con.

I've never gone the VIP route because it's quite pricey. But my kids thought it would be a great birthday gift (in advance). They figured I'd want to be able to afford a picture with the Star guest!

I finally did it. I have two new additions in the past couple of weeks. A new 5S (black 16Gb) with an Otterbox Defender, and an Airport Extreme. I am coming to terms with iOS7 (and really liking it so far) and love the fingerprint scanner. The only issue is with the case, it is really difficult to lift the cover off the scanner for use right now while the case is new. Love them both and will be using the 4S as an iPod with maps (keeping the cellular service on it for backup).

I haven't seen the fingerprint scanner as yet and am waiting for the 6 before trading up on my iPhone 5, so will check it out then. But it must be good not having to worry about a passcode.

I have the Airport Express.....it's worked just brilliantly for extending my wifi.....just may have to look into the extreme though also!

I hope that case loosens up real soon!

Well done on choosing the 5s , you'll find as I did that its a brilliant bit of kit , runs like a dream . I queued for mine last year and it was worth it .
