How legit news sources deal with it, is an interesting question and fairly topical. With the attack on the UK Parliament yesterday I noticed just now that Buzzfeed has a collection of related fake news items from various sources. This seems a really good idea; to have a section in each news source of the fake items. It would then be perhaps easier to decide (or accept) which is which.
