What's new

The Limera1n Thread - Please keep all Limera1n news and problems here!

Has anyone who has used it successfully then tried to upgrade to 4.2? Does the jailbreak still work if you upgrade the os after jailbreaking, or do you then need a separate 4.2 jb after the fact? I'm new at this...

My earnest recommendation is for nobody to try that.

This is exactly why I seem to have trashed my iPad.

I successfully moved from iOS 4.2 back to 3.2, installed limera1n, and then tried to move back to 4.2 using the procedures that were successful before, and the device appears to be irrepairably stuck in DFU.

I have not been able to find any way out so far.

Maybe some smart person will help us out.

As I said in another post, no combination of attempts to re-set or hard start, no combination of the usual DFU re-set applications (RecBoot, blackra1n, Umbrella) will work.

So far.

I am so sorry to hear that!

So if I were to jb now, and then decide later that I want 4.2, I could restore 3.2.2 without the jb and then upgrade? I'm trying to make sense of all this so I don't do something I regret.

On the face of it that would seem logical. :-)

I was able to go from 4.2 back to 3.2, but I had my SH files stored and I point to Suarik servers instead of Apple's.

tried countless times on both my toshiba laptop and husbands pc, but no go.
its just shit and not even worth it :) but thats my 2 cents

Well for those it didn't work for there is obviously something wrong on your end. Do you have iTunes 10?

i beg to differ.

installed it on one ipad....flawless install

tried it on second ipad... after 6 attempts, stlll a no-go

did exact same procedure for both

Still no success for me. I've tried several computers and ALL of the releases so far. I've even manually put my iPad into DFU and tried like that. Never get rain drop to show on device, it ALWAYS reboots into recovery while the program says exploiting.

Some people are reporting problems on getting Limera1n to work, but I strongly suspect that they are doing something wrong. It works, as reported on various sites and many users here.

Hi, this is my firts post, so before all, I like to say hi !!! to all the Forum !!!

Regarding this Jailbreak, I didn't work for me.
All the process goes without glitches but no Lime icon or App after DFU.

I have Ipad 3.2.2 WIFI 32 Gb and Win 7 64 bits

Tried limera1n first release and BETA4 with and whitout iTunes opened.

No good luck so far.

Any ideas ?

I just want to make sure that I understand correctly. This jailbreak is for the people who bought an iPad with 3.2.2 and couldn't jailbreak any other way. I'm on 3.2.1JB and therefore I don't see any benifit from this new JB. Am I correct? or am I missing something?

No, this is for anyone that wants their iPad to be up to date and jailbroken.

Updates aren't arbitrary...they do release them for a reason.
