What's new

The Official I got my iPad 2 Thread!

I am SO excited! I just ordered a 64gb+3G white iPad2 from the apple store (I'm getting the engraving too). I'm giving my husband my this iPad for Father's Day with a new set of Dr. Dre monster beats headphones. It's a win-win situation! The new pad isn't scheduled to arrive until June 20th, just in time for our 15th wedding anniversary. I can't wait!

Got mine about 10 days ago

I ordered a 32 3G through a very dependable reseller at the beginning of March but I was still only 6th in line by mid-May and couldn't stand it anymore. I asked what they DID have in stock, and they had a 16 gig 3G, so I got that, and it arrived safely a few days later. I've been spending a LOT of time playing with it, sometimes swearing at it, but mostly finding it incredibly satisfying to use. I wasn't sure what I wanted from the ipad, but whatever it was, I've gotten much more. I find the quality of images, the quickness of apps, and the readability of text amazing. I still find the whole question of copying/syncing hard to figure out because of (so I've learned to call it) the absence of a file management system on the ipad. There are obviously ways to work around that, and I've found a lot of them. But I often simply get stymied by what it seems to me should be a quick easy transfer or rearrangement, but it's not. It still seems strange (as it did with my iPhone frankly) to be unable to add individual movies, files, or pieces of music without running the risk of erasing everything!

Nonetheless, I have NO complaints really. It's a beautiful and brilliant object, and I love it.

Just go mine, 16 get 3g black at target, the Apple store here in Fresno didn't have any in stock. I'm downloading itunes right not to get it going.

Hello everyone I got my 64gb white wi-fi ipad 2 about a month ago but just joined the forums tonight. I look forward to reading and learning a few things about the ipad over the coming weeks. Thanks!

Steve gets an iPad 2

I think I am a pretty lucky guy...my wife bought me a 32 gig black wifi model and navy blue Smart Cover for Fathers' Day. Of course, this model is scarcer than ice cream in hell so I must wait until June 20.:D That's ok, I am a patient person...:)

For me,this was a big decision-one I am not completely at peace with yet. I've weighed the 11" Macbook Air v the iPad for weeks and weeks and still hope I've made the right move.

While I won't have the full functionality of a Macbook, the iPad is slim, carries a charge for hours, and will be a great place to store pix and text while we tour the US on our motorcycle. Also, thanks to some responders here, I can see where my soon-to-be iPad will be very valuable to me as a school administrator.

BTW, here is a picture of the Lovely Wife. Thanks, J, you rock!

Got mine today and the cool thing is, it showed up two day's earlier than expected. So far it is a very incredible device. Can't wait to get some more time tomorrow to learn more things about it. Going to also make a trip to the apple store for a smart cover to help out till I get the otterbox.

@rt12rpilot - you ARE a lucky one, my husband would never buy me an iPad, he thinks Apple products are overpriced (blasphemy, I know). He just doesn't know how amazing they are. I don't think you'll regret your decision to get the iPad. It is extremely portable with great battery life, which I think would be important on a motorcycle trip. I always carry it on my travels, and for short trips I don't usually bring my laptop. Hopefully, you'll have time to play with it before you leave, so you can get the apps you need. Enjoy!

Just got mine a few hours ago. It is amazing! No back light bleeding....it's perfect.

Whoever said it's just a big Touch obviously does not have either. This thing is amazing!

I just downloaded a movie from Netflix...took 3 seconds! The picture is crystal clear. My Touch apps work nicely too. I love how you can chose the size of the iPhone/Touch app.

Love how the Smart Cover looks and feels. Love my dear hubby for getting me one.

Haven't tried my wireless keyboard yet....going to do that next.

I'm giddy with excitement! Hey.....have fun everyone!!

You didn't download the movie. Netflix streams the movies.

64GB 3G White iPad

Hey everyone!
First post here. Got my white ipad 2 32GB+Wifi a couple of days ago from Futureshop (I'm in Canada). Had bad screen bleeding. Went to the Apple Store where they promptly replaced it. No screen bleed at all. Absolutely love the tablet. This is my first Apple product and it is a piece of work.

Got my iPad 2 yesterday! Whoohoo! It is a little bittersweet, but nit really. I originally ordered a 16gb wifi in white. Was supposed to pick it up today but got a phone call yesterday (at 5pm, which was irritating!) that it wouldn't be in until July 2nd! Um, hello...that doesn't work for me...I need it for school on June 6th! So I frantically called around. Most places had a couple 64gb with wifi & 3G but I didn't want to pay $200 more for 3G when I won't use it. Target had one 64gb wifi in white left. So I bought it and here I am. Didn't want to spend that much but oh well. Better than waiting until July! Now, I'm debating on whether or not I should keep the order for the other? It's already paid for...I could sell it on eBay and possibly make a profit...

Anyway, super excited to have my very first iPad...and it most definitely is NOT a big iPod touch!

My favorite app right now (besides friendly...so much better than Facebook on my iPhone!) is UPAD. Tried a few other note taking apps (using handwriting) and like it the best. I'm able to write super fast with it and my writing looks legible. My I only have a couple issues. I wrote 4 pgs of notes last night so I can't attest to long tern use. I wish that you could erase a word by striking through it 3x like with onenote - instead of having to stop writing and touch the eraser icon. Wouldn't be as annoying if there were a few tools next to the zoom-in box. I also don't like that it doesn't automatically advance to the next page - but if you're paying attention, you should notice that you're nearing the end of the page. Wish it had a recording function but it's not completely necessary. The biggest plus is that my handwriting looks decent - unlike with neu notes and sundry notes. I even tried using my wyse pocketcloud to access my laptop and take notes using onenote but my handwriting looked awful! I'm almost afraid to try other note taking apps for this reason. Wouldn't be so bad if they had lite versions available, but many don't. I really wish that it was required for each paid app to have a lite version to try. I hate wasting money on apps and I hate asking apple for a refund...they usually have good customer service, but they make you feel guilty when asking for refunds on apps and such.

I'm done being long winded now, lol.

I got mine last night. I went into best buy to get an iPad 1st generation since online it showed they had some. Was bummed that they didn't have one so came home. Went back and got the iPad 2 black 16gb. Glad I went with this model, loving it thus far.
