Gameloft’s HD iPad version of classic PC game The Settlers has swiftly risen to the Top Charts in various territories throughout the world since its release on September 2. No surprise really, as it’s always been such a popular PC game, and it looks absolutely tailor-made for the iPad’s larger screen.
The world of The Settlers is one where Romans, Vikings and Mayans either compete or cooperate with each other to attain various goals, including occupying land, attaining supplies of raw materials, trading with other factions, and generally trying to build the best settlement possible. It’s up to you how you want to play the game, aggressively with sword in hand, or peacefully with cooperation and understanding. However you choose to play the game, though, you’ll still need to pay attention to resource management and town-building in order to keep your army strong and fortify your settlement against invaders.
Although it might look a little complicated if you haven’t played the game before, there are extensive tutorial missions available so newcomers should soon get the hang of it.
