What's new

Tribez

It does register if you do the 24 hour deal at the fish shop AC Sian and David : Tribez 3cf44b7 (Eileen Dover)

Thanks for the advice. I haven't tried any 24 hour deals.
Anyhow, as we are now alerted to tonight's update (which I hadn't previously noticed), it will be interesting to see what the new quest is like and it will be a distraction from small fish and walruses.
I do not think this update will fix my snag because they only admitted there was a problem about 12 hours ago.
Oh well, I expect to be involved with Christmas trees and turkeys for a while...both in play and at home...and maybe some nice Rioja in a large glass?
I must remember to roast my chestnuts!
Regards,
Nutty

Heck, there's a lot to do with the new update.
It's going to take some time and effort.
This is much better than AC.

I agree. Have you found any red paint yet? It says its in the ancient bar but when you click find it points to the cave!

Hi all! Sorry I've been away from the forum for so long but things got crazy. First off, there is hope for breaking the AC habit! We went on a family trip to Hawaii and I didn't bring the iPad. After a week of not being able to play, I no longer missed it and only go back to it once in a while just to see if it looks much different. But I don't play!!! As for Tribez, I'm hooked. I play on the Kindle and they very recently added the "play with friends option". From reading a few pages on the forum, it seems that the iPad game and the Kindle games are different. The iPad version seems to be more advanced (you have quests like in AC but not so far in Kindle). Maybe it's just a matter of catching up to you in the game.
Good to be back in touch with everyone! Happy Holidays!

Hi Frenetta

Great to have you back. I have accepted your request in Tribez. I too rarely play AC as I am so fed up with all the issues surrounding it. I really enjoy Tribez and am also hooked.

I had the same issue. I decided to invest some crystals on that bit as I was too impatient. I had quite a few crystals in stock from when they were on offer.

Hi Frenetta,
Good to see you again. Regarding AC: congratulations on changing one addiction to another (Tribez). I'm struggling to get rid of at least one of these games ;)

Welcome back. I have my main game on iPhone, where it takes a lot if time to download the assets, which does not happen on iPad.

Fred/Barbara(Eileen),
There's a part if the new Christmas quest on island 1 that requires help from neighbours to complete.
I think that it may become more clear as you progress. I now believe that it's a bit like with airport city spaceship launches where one player (me in this instance), initiates the quest then I invite up to 5 or 6 others to assist with the completion.
Until you have the required components on island 1 then I don't think you'll be able to contribute. I think that this will be why you are puzzled by my invites.
Truth is, that one player can't initiate the quest and then, if necessary, complete it by himself (unlike rocket launching).
Unfortunately, I didn't know this when I initiated the quest so I cannot complete this time and we probably need to coordinate further attempts better through this forum.
I'll try to explain more clearly when I understand it more myself.
I do know that the components needed to contribute to a successful quest completion are collected from certain buildings on island 1 (like small houses) and from the patches that grow pumpkins etc, and also, I think, occasionally from the crashed aircraft. The items that occasionally drop are put into your inventory under a new third tag. The items are of differing value so the things that drop frequently from the farm patches are of less value within the quest than the things that rarely drop from the aircraft. The items look like shovels, red gloves...and something else that I can't remember. I was able to put 20 of the individual items into the quest when I started it and this contribution was about a third of what was needed to complete. I don't think that I could put anything more in so I needed my invited friends to contribute the rest within the given 24 hours post initiation.
It's all very complicated at the moment and I don't even know what the prize is, but it seems to include some snowflakes which must do something.
The two things that seem to initiate the ability to contribute to this joint quest are something that looks like a snow globe, and then something that I think they call a Christmas tree...but the thing that I have currently doesn't look much like a Christmas tree.
If you can visit my island1 then you might be able to see the snow globe and the other adjacent "thing". They are low down and more towards the right of centre of my island.
Maybe the snowflakes that we earn from completing the quest will feed the tree and make it into something better looking and worthwhile??
Anyhow, perhaps my lovely neighbours can advise when they make sufficient progress to understand something of this and we can then have a consolidated attempt at achieving a few of these quests. It looks like we will need to do a few, but, again, I'm not yet sure.

All as clear as mud eh?

Nutty

Ok. I just need one more red paint then I will have everything for the sleigh. I am busily collecting the various items on the aforementioned tab.

The snow globe is actually called a snow hut.
The Christmas tree is actually called a New Year Tree.
Everything happens on the Island of the Ancients.

To do the quest that requires neighbours' help you do need various commodities.

The quest is called the Dino Snowman quest (I think).

When someone initiates the quest, you need to achieve 100 point within the 24 hours from start.

The things needed to get the points are:
Shovels worth 1 point within the quest. Get these from the patches (drop frequently from 3 minute watermelons).
Mittens worth 2 points drop sometimes from nice huts.
New Sculpting Tools worth 3 points drop from Houses.
Snowballer worth 4 points drops from Cave.
Bucket worth 5 points drops from Airplane.

(The last 2 are from memory and I may have them mixed ie bucket might be from cave).

The Snowballer and Bucket are the hardest to find, not least because each search takes 1 hour and there's only one cave and one airplane. They then drop very rarely.

The only possible way to achieve the 100 points on your own is if you have 20 buckets because each individual player only has 20 actions in the quest. 20 x 5 would give the 100 points needed.
I don't think that 20 buckets is possible as I only got one after searching all day.

I believe that the reward is snowballs and these are used to buy gifts in the store. I think that gifts contribute somehow to the completion of the New Year Tree.

It seems rather complex and difficult, but these quests are often achievable once you properly understand what you are doing!!!

In the meantime, look out for the buckets, snowballers, and new sculpting tools etc. Try to gather as many as possible. Check the blue Dino tag within your inventory to see how many you have.

Once there are a few of us with sufficient progress and commodities we can try to start a joint quest search. You will know that you're ready to start when you click on the Dino symbol in the top right of your screen and it indicates that you can begin the quest. I think this happens when you have the snow hut and the new year tree in place.

If anyone knows more then please advise.
Nutty
