TUTORIAL - Failsafe method to restore the current version of IOS

So before i waste any more time downloading..........can i upgrade to 6.1.3 and have a straightforward clean ipad with no jailbreak? i basically want to "unjailbreak" my ipad.

Yes, that is what following this guide will give you.

upgrade to 6.1.3 went smoothly......follow instrutions perfectly, have correct and most recent ios and all will be in order.
thank you for the help!

I currently have an iPad 2 WiFi running iOS version 6.1.2. I have the SHSH blobs for this version. I tried the method at the beginning of this thread to reinstall it but keep getting error 1600.

Will this method work for me?

The tutorial at the beginning of this thread is for installing the current version of iOS, in this case, iOS 6.1.3. If you try to install an earlier version like you did, you'll get error messages and won't be able to complete the restore. What you have to do is go back to the tutorial and this time follow it exactly, without trying to add an old version of iOS that is no longer being signed by Apple.
If your intention was to preserve the ability to jailbreak your iPad, you can't. Your iPad will be on iOS 6.1.3 after following the tutorial.

Your suggestion has now gotten me further than any other<g>, now a new code: 21
and this is on the screen:
[FTL:MSG] Apple NAND Driver (And) RW
[FTL:MSG] Fil_Init [Ok]
[FTL:MSG] [Ok]
[FTL:MSG] [Ok]
I have the most current ipsw, followed your directions above. I do not have a jailbreak, nor do I know what that or 'bricked' means.
Would appreciate any help, this is my 8 year olds and we are going on day 12....

Update: I went searching through the iPadforums and found a post about using redsn0w concerning the error code 21. Downloaded it>extras>:
~Recovery fix does not work on iPad 2
~Did the pwned DFU

And,
(Everything I did)
Placed iPad in DFU mode
opened iTunes, iPad needs restored. clicked ok
pressed 'shift' 'restore'
and used the DFU restore ipsw,
it extracted,
prepared ipad for restore
verified ipad restore with Apple
(ipad screen black, then goes to apple logo, the swirly circle shows up, swirls about a second, then stops)
for several minutes, it appears that itunes is stuck with 'preparing ipad for restore'
swirly goes away on ipad screen then the error code 21 appears in itunes, then the ipad screen goes back to showing the plug in picture.

Does any one have ideas??

Thanks

I have an ipad 3, jailbroken 5.1.1
If I do this and restore to the latest unjailbroken fw, will this allow the Sky Go app to work?
I have heard that it can detect previously jailbroken ipads even after you have unjailbroken them with the latest fw.

You heard wrong. It is impossible to detect a previously jailbroken device if it is restored correctly. If you restore your device to IOS 6.1.3 using iTunes you will be able to use your SkyGo app again. I can confirm this as a SkyGo user myself. But of course, with this method you will lose the option to jailbreak.

Since you have 5.1.1 at the moment, IF you also have accompanying 5.1.1 blobs, you could use redsn0w to re-restore 5.1.1 and use SkyGo on that. Then, if you grow bored with Sky, you could jailbreak it again using absinthe. Just another option.

Our guide for that is here - http://www.ipadforums.net/jailbreak...5-x-ipad2-ipad3-using-redsn0w-shsh-blobs.html

Thank you. I wont need to jb to 5.1.1 or any jb for this device, but just in case, I will try to save the blobs, which I think is saved in Cydia. I only need Tinyumbrella for this action, right?

If the blobs are saved in Cydia that's good enough. Once you go to 6.1.3 you render them useless as there is no way back, so it's a moot point.

hi everyone
i have an ipad mini wifi running 6.0.2 currently and is jailbroken using evasi0n.
last night, i ran terminal command 'fmf' (findmissingfiles), discovered that i had 7/8 packages that were missing files.
the packages missing files were : com.fabius.utils
base
com.ithemesky.ithemesky
bash
gzip
libhide
libactivator
ncurses
winterboard
system-cmds.

the dpkg command to fix/replace these necessary files was not working so i carried on to manually re-install and replace these incomplete package files via cydia simply by finding the installed package and chosing re-install instead of removing.
all of this was going fine until i re-installed 'base'.
after completing the re-installation and waiting for my ipad to boot back up, it managed to get stuck on the apple logo screen.
i have done several things to try to attempt to fix this problem.
i've tried editing the 'hosts' file, to remove any lines or add a # to 'gs.apple.com'. my hosts file does not have gs.apple.com at all throughout it, so that was no good.
i tried navigating to and deleting DynamicLibraries and then rebooting the device, but that hasn't done anything.
i've tried updating/restoring my ipad to the latest software, but i keep getting an error message saying my device isn't eligible to receive the software due to a 3rd party software or adblock firewall.
i also SSH into my ipad from my macbook and manually removed any type of adblocking/firewall tweaks/apps.
when i put my device into DFU recovery mode and use tinyumbrella to try and boot out of it, my ipad is non responsive.
NOTHING AT ALL IS LETTING ME USE MY IPAD!
is there a way of unjailbreaking my ipad without restoring?
are there ANY other possible solutions, perhaps terminal command or through ifile to fix the massive problem i'm facing?

somebody please help me out! my ipad mini is only 3 weeks old! :(
greatly appreciated everyone!!

I think that the only way to get your iPad working again is to follow the tutorial in the first post in this thread. It will, unfortunately, leave you on iOS 6.1.3. Yu'll then have to wait until an iOS 7 jailbreak is released.
