There are USB adaptors but they will probably not work with your air card. Just saying.

That would seriously undercut Apple's ability to sell 3G ipads, and so I'd be SHOCKED if they would allow a driver for it. That, IMHO, would be the biggest impediment to using the USB port for any sort of wireless card.
