Weak new iPad 3G signal

I bought the new iPad 3G version a couple of weeks ago and have n
Been having problems with the 3G signal when I'm out and about. The signal goes from one bar to no service and back to searching. The sim is on the three network and worked fine in my mifi device before I put it into the iPad. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem? Anybody else having the same issue?
