Weather

Just been torrential here but not for a very lengthy period of time.......there is no wind so it was coming straight down the chimney into the fireplace!

Looks like you need a rain cap on your chimney!

Only ever happens on very, very odd occasions like today......although I may retract that if tomorrow I post that I have a newly acquired indoor swimming pool!

Great weather in the mountains of Colorado right now. The first pic is from a little place called Aspen (Dumb and Dumber quote), and the second two are from Hanging Lake near Glenwood Springs Colorado. One of the best hikes to do in Colorado. Ignore the middle pic on the bottom I put it there by mistake. All taken on my 4s. I am continually impressed by the camera on this phone.

Seneca18, that is certainly a great place, idyllic. Thanks for posting.

These past 2 days, the mornings have started of bright and clear with cloud building to deliver heavy showers later in the day. I don't think our Sunday gathering will feature a BBQ :(

Red alert! Large brush and tree fire has erupted 20 minutes driving time from my neighbourhood.

It's so hot and dry I swear it's spontaneous combustion.

Any buildings and homes at risk?

Not yet. But the fire line is moving toward a provincial utility corridor. High voltage transmission lines. Not good if it gets in there.

This just in.

Homes being evacuated.
Fire is 10 hectares and expanding.

Crews are back-packing water in and chasing the flames on ATV.

Water bomber has just made a first pass.

Safe here. But my niece lives minutes from the flames. Hopefully the fire is contained or expands in a more southerly direction away from buildings.
