It's a cloudless evening so everything you see that isn't blue is haze from the smoke.

Break lines have been set but it will take all night and most of tomorrow to extinguish hot spots and flare-ups.

Oh my goodness, Admiral...haven't come onto the weather thread in a few...are things still safe for all of you?

We also have not had as much rain lately here...we badly need it soon!

Your posts portray the drama of a very worrying situation unfolding Admiral. I do hope the Fire Fighters manage to contain things. Will the military get involved?

I hope your niece and her family will be OK.

Good morning.
Appreciate the comments of concern.
The fire burning in our area has been contained but not extinguished.

Fortunately there's no appreciable wind to fan the flames or suddenly redirect the path of the fire.

We've been advised it will be days before the fire is considered to be out.

Evacuees were permitted to return to their homes
overnight. They remain on standby to leave again should the situation deteriorate.

Good morning AA

That's good to hear, I hope it does extinguish without further worry.

A colleague forwarded this image taken from one area of the bush where the fire is out. Notice the evidence of ploughing under, so embers can't blow into other areas and start new fires.

Hello Friends !!!
Dear friends there are a lots of severe weather in United State Of America, even outside the near record snows of this past winter. The area was hit by series of what many know as Nor Easters. Basically snow storms that move up from the south and aided by water off the Atlantic.

So-sol weather for our balloon rally and glow + BBQ contest. It's hot with a comfortable breeze, but the breeze is keeping most balloons down.
