In fact, the outdoor fire ban which has been in effect since April 30, was lifted at 3PM yesterday.

10 minutes ago we had a downpour.

Canada's celebrity climatologist, David Phillips (Environment Canada) told one of our interviewers last week that cloud bursts are of little benefit. The drought is so severe
it would take several days of steady, moderate rainfall to restore soil conditions to normal.

We've had 2 so far.

It was 22°, lovely and warm in the sun, at times hot.....cool in the shade....but all round beautiful day.

The lightning's just put the thunder in the thunderstorm. The last blast was enough to slightly shake the house.

We had thunder and lightning last night!! I thought it was going to crack our house in two for how loud and close it was!!

Still raining here, but desperately needed.

We have had some great thunderstorms lately. It can make night driving interesting, to say the least. Thursday night, the lightning was continuous for about 20 minutes. It would have been easily possible to have driven without headlights.
