Weather

Richard, have been looking for the thread you started (I think?) about historical events that happened "on this day" previously.

So will post this weather-related news here instead; hope that's acceptable.

On this day 60 tears ago, the UK Devon towns of Lynmouth & Lynton were devastated after torrential rain plunged down the narrow ravines from Exmoor. Many died. I read 9 inches of rain in 24 hours--astronomical.

We are enjoying hot dry weather, with a very occasional rain shower these days.

It reminds me of that Nat King Cole song, "Roll on those lazy hazy crazy days of Summer". :)

Those days of sodas and pretzels and beer!

Can't get it out of my head now!

It's turning hot and sticky already!

I'm thinking of dodging in and out of the garden sprinkler spray :)

Enjoy the lack of a hosepipe ban while you can. They are sure to bring it back as soon as we've had a tiny bit of hotndry:-)
