I know that Filipinos known to be hospitable. That tropical storm Helen is definitely not welcomed.
We just finished cleaning my sisters' house in Provident, Marikina.
 
Thanks Molly. It'll definitely pass my way. The news is that the storm is getting stronger.
There are roads and areas that is still unpassable due to flood. Dams are still overflowing. Sigh.

Everything is soaked as a light rain has been falling for some time now.

Yesterday I saw a deer in the corn field near my house. Deer should not stand taller than corn in August.

Not much corn is grown where I live. The crops are mostly wheat.
 
Well we have been drenched in tons of rain and everything is now soggy. Our local cornfield is far too short as well. Seems global.

Richard, have been looking for the thread you started (I think?) about historical events that happened "on this day" previously.

So will post this weather-related news here instead; hope that's acceptable.

On this day 60 tears ago, the UK Devon towns of Lynmouth & Lynton were devastated after torrential rain plunged down the narrow ravines from Exmoor. Many died. I read 9 inches of rain in 24 hours--astronomical.
