What's new

Weather

Oh my gosh! Today it is windy as heck! I walked out of the house this morning thinking it would be warm out. God was I wrong! Huge darn mistake! It was so windy out there, and so cold, that I don't think I was out there for even 5 seconds, when I shut the door, which was shut ALMOST all the way, the wind was so strong that it pushed the door right open! It freaked me out because it almost hit me! I was like "WOAH! WHAT THE HECK!" It was like there was an f-5 tornado out there!

A couple years ago, I was watching a video about this tornado that hit a city, the tornado was so violent, killed so many people, and damaged so much, that it was actually considered the first F-6 tornado ever. They called it the mega tornado. And it was the only one that WAS considered an F-6 tornado. I couldn't imagine how bad that would be! If that were to be coming around my house, I'd probably be sitting down with a paper and a pencil writing my will.

Good grief that motorbike ride must have been terrifying Gabriel. We had moved to a new build in Hextable 6 weeks beforehand.

The sound of the neighbours garage exploding woke us. I went out to investigate! That was something else - had to hold onto the house to stay put!

It wasn't the most pleasant trip I ever took, I swear I was riding in at straight line leaning over at around 45 degrees at times! I went to bed when I got home and slept through the rest of it.....when I woke up the next morning and went out the door it was like the aftermath of a nuclear war!

I remember the night well. I was working night shift. We used to listen to Radio 2 overnight, and our first inkling that something was wrong was when the radio shut down. We later heard that the phone lines were down to London and the south.

Here's the effects of the snowstorm that hit Regina in the last hour.

We are just watching the news about Hurricane Sandy's approach to the East coast of the USA.

We are thinking of you all. Stay safe.

Yes, so am I. So sorry you have this coming to you on my birthday. Hope everyone who lives nearby will be alright. Batten down the hatches.

I see the HMS Bounty crew were rescued as it was taking in water. Lets hope she will be saved as well. Lot of history attached to that boat. Including the 62 film and pirates of carribean film.

U.S. Coast Guard Vice Admiral Robert Parker has just confirmed HMS Bounty is sunk.

Sadly it appears two members of its crew may be missing. May the sea be merciful.

How awful. May they be found. Why was she out in the sea?

That's what I was wondering, it's not as if they didn't know Hurricane Sandy was on her way.
From what I understand, the main reason the ship was abandoned when it was, was because the pumps and generators failed, preventing the crew from pumping out the water coming into the ship during the storm.

Nature is too powerful for us mere mortals.

I wish people would realise this. Sad that such a ship should be lost through human error. (Sailing while a storm is approaching).

When all is quiet they may be able to raise her.

Well, Hayles, I for one am taking your advice. My truck is not going anywhere today. It snowed all weekend, and I took my pickup out to get coffee earlier. What I saw convinced me that big trucks don't need to be on the road today.
