Lol. Just reading this makes me laugh. So does this make me a real soft southerner. I'm even further south than Gabe? At least we get the flowers sooner. Lol.

Hey, I'm a girl! I love my flowers. I have pelargoniums, lavenders and fuchsias in my dining room *** garden room. Some have been killed off in this freezing cold we are having but the hardier ones have survived. I'm just waiting for the weather to realise that it's Spring now. I'm sick of watering these things every week. I have to avoid watering the hanging washing on the lines. Yes, it's no longer used as a dining room now, it's the hanging washing room. The drier packed up yonks ago. I'm hoping for a drier to arrive but I've given up waiting for one now.

When I lived in Victoria, B.C., they had flower counting contests in February and the cherry trees are in bloom by now.

Yes, our cherry trees are blooming too. I have daffodils and my witch hazel bush has been flowering for ages and is going over now.

We continue to be dusted with snow. A squirrel is out and about. Doesn't get hibernation. Must be from 't north ;)

i really envy people who live in the south for the wonderful things they can grow in their gardens, things that just wouldn't survive here,i have to put my palms in the shed over winter, the first lot i had died as i didn't take them in.

Oh, we got caught out when we had that huge snow storm a few years ago and lost our massive Cordylines. Deep sadness was replaced by great happiness when they had little shoots coming out from the bottom. I thought they were dead! Loads of plants died then. Interesting that we have had snow every year since though, hmmm! I've often wondered when we would go back into ice age again? Hee Hee. Oh and I love the way Ipf changed my perfectly innocent word between dining room and garden room. Three stars. Have they never heard of that word in the way I said it? Ha ha ha

We had quite a big electrical storm a few hours ago.

Heard a huge bang out the front of our yard. We thought the house may have been hit by a strike.

Daughter arrived home an hour ago to find a tree had been struck and was across the road.

Just spent quite a bit of time cutting it up to at least allow cars to get through. The rest can wait until morning.

Any chance that you could send me some logs for my fire?

Seems you've had a lifetime of weird weather all in one year.

It certainly hasn't been boring Admiral!

We've got a big clean up to do in the morning that I'm not relishing, especially after doing a clean up today.
