It snowed last night. Not a lot. The roads and footpaths are wet and clear. The snow covering on the garden is thin and looks very interesting with great fretwork style patterns on the ground.

I know. School hols are definitely the best part of my job. Unfortunately, we are paid pro rata so don't get paid for all the hols.

Our teachers here in the states do not get their Summers paid for, but pretty sure that the Holidays are paid for them...I think.

I get paid for holidays, but not summers. Pay checks are spread out throughout the year so it's not too painful. Teaching summer school helps too.

I believe that it has something to do with cannon balls from olde worlde ships.....but I could be wrong.....I must go and check!
