We realize that using an iPad outside of the US is considerably different. The iTunes Store, DRM in general and many aspects of the daily use are different. So with that in mind, col.bris has volunteered to moderate the International Forum here and help support users outside our borders.

Feel free to post up any discussions in here that are related to International Use.

Thanks col.bris!

Welcome and many thanks for including an international ipad forum. :)

I am sure their are many members whom live out side of USA so please join us and let me know what country you are from. There are some issues living out side USA in respect to Apple , one major one is that each major country has their own itunes store and can only down load from that store. This is primarily due to copy right issues so unfortunately one cannot obtain music, movies and books etc from the USA site. Most applications however are available many localised for that country, ie GPS maps food etc. Apple iphone is now number 2 in Australia just ahead of Blackbury. Nokia is number 1 so that gives you some idea Apple's market penetration here.

Apple is expected to release the ipad both wifi and 3g in Australia late May. I suspect May 24 and we anticipate it will have the same impact as it has done in USA.

So lets hear from all the International members.
Cheers Colin

Hi from another Brisbanite

Hi all,

Another person from Brisbane here.

I develop apps for the iPad and iPhone... though I'm struggling to get my testing happening since Apple cancelled my preorder through a freight forwarder :-(

Cheers

Hi, I'm from Belgium.
I got a 64GB wifi from my sister who lives in the US, and I'm very happy with it.
For now I just use the Belgian iTunes store (so, no iBooks, no iWork, no AppStore), but I can get most of the Apps through iTunes though. So I don't mind that very much. That will be resolved within a couple of months when the iPad will be officially available here.
I'm curious how much content there will be available when iBooks is on the Belgian iTunes.
The Amazon Kindle for iPad works flawlessly.
