I also enjoy all sorts of music, apart from opera. This discussion has acted as a catalyst for me to post pics of part of my CD collection. It's occupying parts of my bookshelves in my study.

I need to blow the dust off some of the covers and play those sounds. Some of my collection had been transferred to the iPod.

The yellow case beneath the Jazz Funk CD contains a double CD set of an orchestra playing synthesiser music.

Interesting, I'm the same but a couple of years back we went to the theatre in Canterbury to see an opera company performing highlights from selected operas and despite never having any interest in opera before I have to say, it was an excellent evenings entertainment.

Same situation here, came into opera very late. But now Wagner & Verdi et al are both on my favourites list.

Also am not a normal pop fan and usually resist the hype-type pushing of trendy singers in the ads. But a couple of days ago I happened on this & was blown away. I find the quality of Susan Boyle's voice just stunning singing this beautiful old carol. Makes me shiver inside.

I don't mind opera but have to say Susan Boyle is not in my opinion a top voice. Hayley Westenra, Sarah Brightman and many others are far superior
Don't get me wrong, she's very popular but I hardly ever get her album out but will always listen to the other two and also Katherine Jenkins. Oh and Lesley Garrett of course.

And don't forget the late Freddie Mercury. Rock
opera at its best.

OK. Horses for courses :-)

To get back on topic, I am preparing to wash my hair. To be exact, looking for the right shampoo. Not the dogs's one.

I'm watching the Challenge Cup semi-final on TV, Leeds are racking up a point for every minute at the moment! Why isn't Rugby League and Union in the Olympics?
