Secretly celebrating because I got the tutor job I wanted. I am still officially flawless when it comes to interviews - I've gotten every job I've interviewed for. Of course, I applied for over 200 teaching positions this summer and didn't hear from any of them. But in this market, being able to work in a school at all is hard to come by. This is a great school in a great school district, so. I was debating taking a nap but I'm waiting for my parents to return my call so I can tell them the news.

Thank you. I mean it isn't much and I'll have to get a 40 hour a week job elsewhere. But teaching jobs are very hard to come by. I am definitely glad I got this. I can relax and search for a full time job anywhere with the assurance that I will be in a SCHOOL 5 days a week working with kids.

That's funny. I was just talking to a visiting friend from China, who spent months in Vancouver. We were discussing Western vs. Eastern food preferences, and he said the family he was staying with had a Western, single-guy neighbor who apparently grilled one hamburger every day for dinner, like clockwork, all year long on weekdays. Every day, he'd slap one hamburger patty and two sides of a bun on the grill, punctually.

I'm guessing that the guy didn't want to wash dishes or otherwise really cook.

I made spicy chicken gumbo and the steaming streaming the brown rice...only 3 minutes to go, can't be quicker!

The Pool Boy is at this moment down in the great room watching TV....sigh, would have liked some appetizer while waiting! I am famished!

I think it's too late, the pool boy has gotten off the couch when he heard the timer go off! We will just have to skip the apps and drinks tonight and go straight for the main!
