What's new

What are you reading now?

Just finished re-reading all four of the The Sharing Knife books by Lois McMaster Bujold.

It's payday, so I'm going to go back through my book wish list(s) of the last couple months and buy myself an early Christmas gift(s).

I did wander through Hastings today (a used/new book and movie store). Did not see anything I wanted for the price and/or the bulk of a hardback, so I'll probably be getting e-books.

I'll check my list and what's new in baen.com first. Great selection of science fiction and fantasy there.

Have not heard of baen.com. I'll have to check it out. Thx.

I'm reading Perfection by R.L. Mathewson right now from her Neighbor From Hell series. It's contemporary romance, and absolutely hysterical. :P

If its the same site Baen has a lot of free ebooks to read that will let you discover new authors (at least the Sci-Fi section does)

I got this CD-ROM at a science fiction convention a few years ago. It contains eBook versions of the entire Baen Books science fiction library. These are usually issued with first edition hardcover versions of Baen books new releases. Updated versions of this CD-ROM are issued on a regular basis.

That is really neat. Have you read a lot of them?

Just started the second book, catching fire, in the hunger games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. They're an easy read and have really enjoyed them so far. Shame the movie wasn't as up to scratch.

I thought the movie was great myself. No, it didn't follow the book entirely, but what movie ever does?

That's true.. The movie just fell short for me though and I'm sure it's because I built myself up for it to be GREAT like the book. They got the characters spot on though I must say.

Looks about the same as a couple I have (somewhere). If the CD is the same, I received with a couple hardbacks I purchased several years ago, and it was barely the tip of the baen.com library. It's grown considerable since then too.

My CD(s) contained about 50 titles, mostly in HTML format. Good titles too. Not the junk you usually get from free deals. This is how I discovered the site, so I guess it was a good move on their part. I've bought quite a few books from them over the years.

The site also sells books from other publishers, though none with as extensive a collection as the Baen titles.
