When Bambi came back yesterday, I had an opportunity to take some more pics.

No showing of Bambi today. Hope to see both back soon! :)

We are trying to turn our square eyes back to normal over here after the Olympics:-) so now I am enjoying catching up here:-)

The new bambies are just lovely!! Such beautiful spots on that gorgeous tan colour. He looks happy & content, and well fed too; Is there any sign of his missing mum yet?

You must be VERY pleased with your new Canon?!!!

Hey Stranding, Bambi was quite content under the pine and when he was hungry went over to our strawberry plants and ate some of that. Unfortunately, I never saw his mom come to get him. Since these last pictures were taken, I haven't seen either one of them.

And the camera...absolutely love it. Its a perfect point and shoot, but with a great zoom - 35x versus 3x with my other camera! :)

I envy you. My Nikon has a 26x zoom and now I want more.

I have really enjoyed having the extra zoom. My other one was so limited with it's zoom capacity it was very frustrating to try to get a good picture quality even when trying to photo edit. I bought the Cannon Powershot SX40 HS...if you are looking for one in the future. :)

These were taken this morning.

It's a little known fact that Chickadees are camera shy. At least that's what W.C. Fields led us to believe.

Ingenious feeder design. Squirrels and other animals aren't getting these seeds!

I think it's heartening to hear folks talking here about camera technical abilities & zoom levels.

Many who want to snap friends can get them to pose up close & nice & still, no problem. But we who are interested in snapping the wildlife outside, often little animals, birds & insects that are too far away, hiding in the trees & NEVER stay still!!!......

It's a whole different ball game for us, isn't it? The quality of the camera & its' abilities has to be much more important. Of course, with birds, the bribery of providing attractive diners comes into it, too!:-)

Wish my camera abilities matched my camera.

So my juvenile cardinal is not up to daddy's standard yet. But he's getting redder day by day.

A redbreasted nuthatch likes my new seed-ball.

A juvenile redbreasted grosbeak and cardinal check out Hoot the Owl. Both picked a few seeds. Hoot is found at Wild Birds Unlimited.

Stranding..it is very different when taking pics of animals/birds, etc. You certainly have to be very quick about it. I have found myself running 2 flights of stairs to capture "the" picture of a roaming deer or deer herd. Sometimes I can get it, other times they get spooked and run off quickly.

Czevski, love Hoot the Owl....very cute! Is the inside of the Hoot made out of suet?

Interesting to see the Grosbeak and the Cardinal peacefully perched together there. That's a great pic you captured with the two staring right at each other like that!

The young cardinal is looking brighter with each pic you have taken of him. Love to see the progression of him.

BTW...saw Bambi this morning walking with his Mom...thank goodness! :)

Hoot is seeds, nuts, and fruit and gelatin. So far chickadees, nuthatches, cardinals, redbreasted grosbeaks, and a brown thrasher have had a taste of him.

This chickadee is trying to eat the eyes of my Jurustic mini sculpture - and they are ceramic!
