Photos of the backyard and view when we were staying in Morro Bay (near San Louis Obispo), CA. You can see Morro Rock in the distance. That backyard makes a great backdrop for group photos, with all the lush greenery behind it. A great photo just waiting to be taken.
Thanks to RichardBrown for the suggestion-I can't believe I didn't think of sending it to myself!!!

How much do Roos interact with humans? I'm thinking about encroachment as communities expand and claim land that was once wild.

We live on 250 acre's of total wild scrub, bush, we have cleared a section of it to live the rest is untouched, the Roos emus etc roam free, this one has made himself at home in the house yard, never leaves it, roams around all over the house yard, sits in h yard like this and grooms himself, this morning we watched 2 laying down Side by side in the sun, sleeping, I think they have all come to realize they are fairly safe here with us.....they are left to roam graze as they wish, we have approx 40 now, in the paddock from the kitchen window, lovely to see, morning & afternoons, a few come into the house yard....I never approach those ones, as they have been known to attack....but his fellow is pretty happy to let me get close....

You are truly fortunate - so are the Roos.

Were they trying to tunnel under the fence? Did they succeed?

One time, belle succeeded in digging a hole, and she got out, when my mom pulled into the driveway, she was sitting right there out of the fence just looking at her.

I almost hate to say this. As I'm sure someone will find it in bad taste... Not barking up the wrong tree either.

Squirrel is some of the tastiest wild game around the woods. Not sure what all they eat, but the meat, although spare, is delicious.
I eaten just about everything that walks, squawks, crawls or swims, and aside from wild salmon, squirrel is great.

See plenty running around the base of spruce trees near my palatial, apartment complex... so no shortage here.

just saying

Chas

Great looking birds! Far more pleasing than the electronic buzz of an alarm clock startling you into wakefulness.
