Their Avery is against my kitchen window and they sing me awake every morning. :-)

You remind me of Spitalfields in London, where the Huguenot weavers kept caged canaries outside their homes. The bird song brings a great new dimension to life in the area. http://spitalfieldslife.com/2010/09/30/dennis-severs-menagerie/

This website is full of wonderful and amusing stories, and great photographs to boot :) :) :)

I almost hate to say this. As I'm sure someone will find it in bad taste... Not barking up the wrong tree either.

Squirrel is some of the tastiest wild game around the woods. Not sure what all they eat, but the meat, although spare, is delicious.
I eaten just about everything that walks, squawks, crawls or swims, and aside from wild salmon, squirrel is great.

See plenty running around the base of spruce trees near my palatial, apartment complex... so no shortage here.

just saying

Chas

Some of us come from the US where wild game hunting is very popular. Haven't eaten squirrel, but many I know have. Just seems too wrong to do that on our IPF Mascot! :)

They are playful critters, especially when they run up and down the trees in my backyard.

How serene that would be to have birds sing to me rather than my iPod blaring in my ear to wake up! That's a great Picture, Linda1 and make sure to add the Roses next time! Would love to see them! :)

Ski monkey,

I tried to send the roses again but I got the same message. Don't know why it doesn't like that picture, my granddaughter took it with my iPad.

Nice palm trees!
I don't know why, but here are a lot of palm trees in my neighborhood. It's not like it's Hawaii or Florida or something!
The one in the front that has its top cut off by the photo is in my front yard :)
Those two skinny ones in the background are really cool. They're really tall and have super skinny trunks, I don't know how they manage to stand up like that without toppling over :)
It's fun to watch them sway on windy days, it's almost scary watching those two skinny ones on stormy days when it's really windy and it looks like they're about to fall over :(

Not much this evening... :(

Although I've been loving our fall weather, I'd like for you to send some of that rain this way.

Scifan, I think one of your instructors has decided to visit my yard.

Yes, he's the chief instructor in the bird feeder access class.;)

This is great I envy you skimonkey, it's my dream to live with nature... this is kinda rare god gift or blessing to mankind. Unfortunately most people end up like me, living in a sky high hi-tech city, for the betterment of their financial life or earn bread for living.

I didn't gave up yet i'll make my dream come true someday...

Cheers!
