What's new

What's the last movie you saw?

We watched 'Charlie,' on DVD last night. It is the first time I've seen it in almost 40 years. Very poignant story, and Cliff Robertson deserved the Oscar for his performance. Prior to that, it was the Star Trek re-boot. In the cinema, I think it was 'The Dark Knight Rises.'

Makes a change then? An exception to the rule? Glad you found a 3D you did enjoy.

Mine was (giggle) Miracle on 34th Street the newer version and Fred Claus. I know, I know but it takes me this long to go through all the Xmas videos I own. 3 months to Xmas isn't that far away. 40+ Xmas movies to go! I only watch them once a year. That's good for me.

I love those old B&W movies for real Christmas nostalgia......I just light the open fire, switch a few fairy lights on and put on an old Christmas movie and I'm instantly into the spirit of the festive season!

See? I told you Xmas films are never too early to watch. You need a couple of months to get into the spirit. Helps to have a glass of wine as well. As I know we have discussed this before, you know I love b & w films too. Gaslight is one of my favourites and of Hitchcock, Great Expectations etc...

Ahhh! Brief Encounter. Classic. I have a few old Audrey Hepburn films. What a beautiful woman she was. I also have a few Fred Astair films. Love the old romantic films. Another time.

A Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey. Excellent fare with Love Actually to finish off with.
