What's new

What's the last movie you saw?

"Rock Of Ages".

Watched it on Zune last night.
All I can say is I was pleasantly surprised.

Didn't know Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin and Paul Giamatti can sing. And sing well!

Great supporting cast - strong voices all around.

Prometheus in 3D, I loved it!

The Archangel

Did you notice Idris Elba from "Luther" in the Captain's chair?
It didn't click for me right away because he had a neutral accent.

Yes, I spotted him straight away.....he was also (I think) in The Wire with an American accent so I'm used to his accent changing all the time.

And to add to the list I saw Avatar 3D yesterday.

The Archangel

I watched The Innkeepers on Netflix. It ended ok, but was slow until the end. Not as slow as the Godfather though... I tried 3 times to watch that and fell asleep every time!

My wife and I watched "The Goodbye Girl" on Zune last night. We first saw it in the cinema in 1977 when we were newlywed.
Still stands up 35 years later.
Richard Dreyfus cracks me up.

Whats memento?

(Btw you can reply to me by clicking the tiny blue arrow on the side and clicking quote)

It's about a guy with retrograde amnesia. It kind f goes backwards through the story but you can still piece it together. If you haven't seen it I would - it's rated R, just FYI.

I think Memento is a bit old for our Amy.

The Archangel

I loved the Princess Bride. Cary Elwes was great in that one.

Peter Falk was in that too, telling the story. The boy looks familiar as well

It is the first movie my wife and I went to see together (on a double-bill with Fellowship of the Ring).

The boy was Kevin Arnold in 'The Wonder Years' television program, from the late 80s-early 90s.
