This problem in adding Janie has occurred before with me, though not with her. I just let it go. When I tried sometime afterwards, it let me add the user I wanted to.

This time I truly think everything is back to normal. Please update on the gifts which I am sending. I recieved many including Luke( not got before this), Timul(not got before this) and also Rigby. Same here - no launches and can't add friends. Few gifts coming in or, apparently, going out. Oh well! Most of us are in the same boat and there isn't a thing we can do but wait GI out.
