Architecture - buildings that is

I checked online images for the building. It stuck me that the said building has numerous similarities to the one in Edmonton.

So, I googled "Legislative Building" and worked through the list. West of central Canada the buildings appear to be variations of a theme. The floor plans are similar. Each building has a grand portico to the main, central entrance and a cupola above the main central lobby. Each building appears to have the same number of floors, etc., etc.

I ask, we're these buildings constructed during the same time period, and were the same architects' plans used as the basis for the design.

I haven't studied Canadian civic architecture. Yet :)

Although the buildings are of similar design, the architects were different in every case.

With the leaves fallen from the trees, the cathedral is far easier to see.

Nice photo Scifan. As you comment, wintertime with bare trees is often the time to photograph buildings.

The museum has a great story to tell.

I didn't see the obligatory torn up newspaper hanging by that seat though! ;)
