Scifan posted on the "This Day in History" thread that...

October 11th, 1912. The Saskatchewan legislative building is opened. Centennial celebrations took place today.

I checked online images for the building. It stuck me that the said building has numerous similarities to the one in Edmonton.

So, I googled "Legislative Building" and worked through the list. West of central Canada the buildings appear to be variations of a theme. The floor plans are similar. Each building has a grand portico to the main, central entrance and a cupola above the main central lobby. Each building appears to have the same number of floors, etc., etc.

I ask, we're these buildings constructed during the same time period, and were the same architects' plans used as the basis for the design.

I haven't studied Canadian civic architecture. Yet

It's right in the middle of town, too! The lake is entirely man made.
