Collect them before you get the steel bolt. Don't send out your taxi for the steel bolt until you get the steel details.

It takes forever....

As an update, no rulers today as part of my neighbour run (day 2). I also sent a ticket to GI based on feedback that other gamers have not received a ruler in two weeks... will let you know what their response is.

Here is my strategy: I make cocoa beans, veggies, down, meat, flowers, books, booklets, calendars, wax, motor oil (or similar), aluminum, acid (thickener now), sapphires, silver, plywood, dairy and some other stuff overnight. In the morning I first check the contest, then the assignments. Only after that I unload my goods. There is a good chance I already have something required. I also keep potatoes, paper, down, plywood etc in my inventory so making bunnies or starch is easy. Yesterday I was actually making bunnies and nightstands and giving them away.

I follow a similar strategy, and try to stock up on items that take 4+ to produce... seems to be working.

Just having a little look at the achievements and thinking about the implications (it is official, I have too much time on my hands!)

My thinking on the major shipowner is having more than one ship. Obviously after an age of collecting anchors and up-grading, so some time away. I struggle to produce 2/3 goods for my ship let alone two. I don't know if I could cope with this let alone friend requests which we all like to help with. How does anyone else feel about this?

I agree with you...I just sold a lot in my inventory to make room for my next ships products. I guess I will need to buy my 5th wh soon. Trying to do ships would require too much time and too many plants...it will be a long time until I get to that point. I too check my neighbors to see what I can help with. I got the 200 help achievement a few days ago. But I got most of them before I had my port open. The port has changed up the game and how to play. But as long I do not need to post help request on Facebook I'm happy.

I think Major Shipowner = upgrade the port to level 4. You will get another VIP container and more happiness with upgrades. The drawback is you will need electricity. I doubt there will be multiple ships. That means you will have two ships in your port at the same time due to the schedule overlapping. Possible? Yes. Likely? In my opinion, no.
