Hi all. I am finding it completely impossible to get anywhere near the top 100 in the contests, and I can't complete the bridge until I've done this. I thought I might get somewhere with the coconut flakes yesterday as I have five taxis I can run regularly, so thought i was in as much a chance as anyone else, but I still didn't make the top 100. Do people who get in the top 100 have to work solidly for a day to get anywhere? And how do the top three manage those numbers. Anyone have any helpful tips please?

Am pretty pleased that we are getting drops again though. Finally got my last avocado for the Eiffel Tower, and getting modules again, hurrah.

Top 100 you need enough of the factory required (at least 3 in my experience) and work pretty solidly to place. Either that or use bonuses if you have them like the one that reduces production time for a set period

It is not so hard to get into the top 100. I managed a couple of times (I am level 34 an I don't have tons of factories).
There is a useful site on the wiki with minimum requirements (Contests - Big Business Wiki)
Only try with composite products. I succeeded with Muffins (3 Confectionary Plants), Coconut Flakes, Tea and Jam.
 
My warehouses seem to hold much more all of the sudden. I have 4 level 6's and 1 level 7. That usually equals 154 slots, but 334 are available to me now. Has anyone else experienced this? The strangest part is that it just happened and my ipad is offline. I was moving around buildings near the river bridge I have under construction.
 
Thanks for the replies. The wiki contest summary is very useful, although there are a quite a few on there that I don't think I will ever get anywhere near. I'm going to keep trying for the salt today. I have 12, so ill try to get that up to 20 and see how I get on in the results tomorrow. Think I will be falling asleep after that!

I noticed last night that mine were way higher as well. I usually have 166 and last night it showed 250. But when I woke up this morning it was back down to my original. I was hoping it would stay that high, but alas, my luck isn't that good.

Mine is unfortunately back to normal.
 
The Ginger Bread men drops are really frustrating....they are dropping less than 50% of the time for me!

Name: Rikmondo (no more spending) City name: Rikville Level. 66 Needs: hammers, please.
 
Same for me. I have even tried using a good luck booster (which supposedly increases your Frances of finding useful items by 90%) but no change!

Mine are rare, too. But luckily I had a bunch left over from last year so I'm actually going to be able to finish this one...maybe even the upgrades, too!

Eek! I'm still on the snow-globes, which so far have had an almost 100% success rate in terms of drops; my candy cane was ridiculous, only about 1 in every 4 or so. Hopefully I'll have more luck with the gingerbread men (wasn't playing last year, so no head start there!). Having said that, I rather suspect these things are all deliberately programmed in at the outset. No doubt a suitcase full of gingerbread men will be appearing shortly!

We'll of course there will be suitcases. My gingerbread drop is about 1 in 4. Absolutely useless.
Has anyone built the castle and know what the upgrade requirements are?

I just built the castle but it takes 4 hours so I won't know until then what the upgrade requirements will be. I'll post when I know more.
