I hope everyone had a nice Xmas! Looking forward to a great new year. I scheduled to cruise the Caribbean for 8 days. Big snow storm expected so I moved up my flight to stay at a hotel in FL. I internet time will be very limited, I'm cheap on spending money for games. However I may buy some time to play the stocks.

I'm working on the ginger men and still have several days to go. I should complete the event even with the slow drops. Thanks to all those who helped me on my containers over the last few weeks. I thought the new friend feature, adding one a day was good. But with so many friends now, it's hard and slow to scroll through to find all you forum junkies. Lol.

Knock on wood. I survived a workforce reduction at my employer. 25% of the SW engineers we're let go.

Yeay! I got into the top 100 in the contests, and got myself two medals. The wiki information is very useful.

Re the gingerbread drops etc, I'm getting something every single time. Didn't realise others weren't. This is my first year doing this achievement, and so far I have all the candy canes and snow globes, and am a third of the way through ginger breads, still with five days to go. Thought this achievement seemed a bit easier than normal. No doubt I have jinxed myself now and when I log back in I won't get anything.

Is anyone going to upgrade the ski resort? It seems to give 2000 happiness points instead of doing the new building to level 2 for. 700 happiness points. Does anyone have the new happipiness level for ice castle for level 3? I have some time to decide before I pull the trigger.

Thanks, MegFree. I have been working on the gingerbread men 'evaporating' into experience, and have a theory. Quit the game completely, come back 75 minutes later, only click on freshly appearing gb men; they all seem to be genuine. Dunno if anyone else has tried this, but it is working for me and I am close to building the castle.

BTW, gave GI heaps about no drops of keys, pumps or module pieces; as well as crashing when visiting friends, between the last two upgrades. They at first told me 'it's a matter of luck' and my response was to tell them to read the posts on their own Facebook site; they are now asking me for crash reports. Wish me well! Happy New Year All!

I think I will upgrade the ski resort to level 3 instead, I get 7 city credits instead of 4 and it has easier requirements to meet. After that I will upgrade the ice castle to level 2 if I have time.

it was last years event. Got to level 2 easily but hung up on the 3rd level so I had a good jump on this years event. Hopefully I won't be playing this addictive game next year. Maybe GI will just kill it for people who don't spend real money.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE, WISH YOU ALL THE BEST!!! My ice castle is being built as we speak but the upgrades are going to be a major pain in the rear. Not sure it is doable. Out of 25 attempts I got 2 ginger men, 2 sugar canes and 3-4 snowballs. I managed to upgrade my ski resort to lvl 3 last year and had plenty leftovers. It was not easy but while the drops were frustratingly infrequent it was not nearly as bad as 7 out of 25.

Edit: much better this time: after 20 attempts 4 ginger, 5 sugar and 4 snowballs.
