New Winter Event....uses energy bar. Items left over from last year still work! I was able to buy the Christmas Tree right away since I had enough candy canes left over from last year.

I need only 20 more candy canes. Looks like I can get the big reward this year and upgrade the ice castle. I am off most of the week so I will keep poking. Does anyone know what the bonus on city credits will be at the end of January? I need the big power plant and have 43 city credits but get about 15 per week with the port and freebies. It would be nice if it is a good chunk of city credits so I can get a few premium items like the metal mine and processing plant. I have been good in not buying city credits for over a year now.this game can be annoying but change is always good. I think the developers are fashioning the game like our congress conducts business. Just think about it a while and I think you would agree. Happy new to you all.New Winter Event....uses energy bar. i got the 500 battery but can't use it. Any one figure it out yet or got a response from GI?

According to their response , battery can be used only for quests requiring more than 500 units of energy

Quite a few of us are awaiting an answer about the 500 battery! I just used 25 energy units acquiring candy canes, and wondered if clicking on the "replenish" button would cause the battery to kick in instead of deducting 6 city credits. It deducted 6 city credits, so I strongly advise anyone else experimenting in this fashion

So I just used up an extra lot of 25 energy units acquiring more candy canes.I checked to see how many I needed for the Christmas tree, and it told me I was missing a very weird number of units, so I checked candy canes in storage. I only had 37! So, since as far as I'm aware, 25 candy canes plus 25 candy canes should amount to 50 candy canes, it seems I've lost 13 of them somewhere along the way!!! Not the first time items seemingly haven't made it to my storage. I'd be on the lookout for any hoodlums and pickpockets wandering around your towns and cities if I were you: they're easy to spot, they'll have a GI logo on their jackets and they'll rob you blind!

In true Gi fashion, not every candy cane you click on gives a candy cane. I have as many duds as i do candy canes

Wow! That's all I can say. An energy button appeared on the task window where I had collected 600 out of the 1000 energy units I needed to complete stage 3.3 of the power plant challenge. I'm sure that's NEVER been there before? Was this a GI omission that they've quietly sneaked in and rectified in the latest update after all of us writing in to ask about using the battery?
(Oh, and be CAREFUL! You'll see from the above I only needed to recharge by 400 units, and had a battery worth 500. It took the whole lot, it didn't leave me with a balance of 100. So plan your battery usage carefully!).

thanks for the response. Looks like the tunnel is becoming available. The message has changed recently. I am getting very close to it. I also saw one friend actually get it completed. Hello everyone, after reading your messages I decided to check BB (updated). Got 2 credits, 200 XP and a message, " please don't forget to come tomorrow too!"

Haven't started for me. I have got lots of leftovers too and I was thinking of doing the event and ignoring everything else, including the port. Maybe it will start later.
