Deleting apps from the 'search ipad screen'

Hi there,
My son has filled his ipad up with so many apps that all the screens were filled up and new apps were not showing on any screens with an icon, they could only be accessed by typing the app name in the search ipad screen . His ipad is now updated and we can create folders but we cannot get the apps from the search ipad screen to move anywhere else or even delete them.
Can anyone help?
Many thanks

Have you tried holding down an app icon until it jiggles, then dragging it to the edge of the screen and holding it there for a while - it will suddenly move to the next screen.

If you need to move an app more than one screen, then a 'trick' is to drag the icon you want to move to the docking bar at the bottom (if there's space there), then flick to the screen you want to move the icon to, then drag it out of the docking bar onto that screen.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for replying.

I can do that with the apps that have an icon on the screen but in the 'search ipad' screen (the one to the left of the home page) the apps apear as a list and not with an icon that you can hold down. Any idea how to get these apps deleted or even on to another page so that they could then be deleted?
Thanks again

John

If you create folders and put a bunch of icons in them do the ones from the search screen not automatically fill back into the empty slots?
