Just caved and bought some gems for the breeding island and first try on it I get 48 hours breeding. Was trying for Rudolph, lol, with Snow and Seaweed. Any guesses as to what it could be? I am hoping for moon or rainbow! I like the new update, but was hoping for more habitats and regular island.

I am still debating buying some gems for the breeding island too...hate to spend real money but not sure I can wait until I earn/am given them otherwise. ESPECIALLY if it really does help me get some more of the rares!

I agree re: liking the update but hoping for the stuff you mentioned. Hopefully next update *fingers crossed*
edited to add: I've seen both those dragons mentioned, for Rainbows AND Moons, but never in that actual combination. Good luck and congrats either way! (thats another combo for me to try once I get my reindeer...still hoping it's breeding now!)

P.S - to anyone that sends gems - I will try to return all gems that are sent to me but now I'm (finally, heh) building a longer friends list, I may not be able to send one every day either.
second edited to add: I think I have experienced a nice gem glitch...I had already given two gems today - within the last couple of hours - and now I suddenly had 3 gems available again! (Already given away, hehe) *squee*

Yes, I'd love to be able to breed them later too (assuming I ever get them, )...if only they'd let upgrade the rare habitats to allow 2 dragons each!

Something else I meant to mention - I wish we could tether the new breeding island to any of our existing ones; I have a 'quiet' island all set up for uniterrupted breeding (hehe, I know I actually makes no difference but I like the thought of it and it looks nice IMHO) and would love to have the dedicated breeding island attached to it too. Hmm, I suppose I could swap my islands around but man, that would be a LOT of work. I'll have to think about it if I ever get enough gems for the new breeding island

Yeh, actually that would of been better than extra habitats for me! Wonder if we can bug them enough so they allw us 2 rares in one habitat lol. All the dragons I sold were duplicates anyways so I can breed them fairly easy again. You will get them! I promise! I thought the same thing. Seemed to me once they started coming it wasn't so bad to keep them coming. The update helped too.

Actually I think they could of meant having the breeding island quiet because one of the descriptions said something about special conditions to get the rare...just my theory after they put out the new quiet breeding cave. Lol yeh a lot of work. Been working on one island for a bit but needed a break. It's tedious work!

Oh, I've got a 5 hour breed time on a Plant x Bluefire...does anyone know if that's DEFINITELY a Reindeer *fingers crossed*??? (I got prematurely excited with a previous pairing which gave a 5 hour wait but only resulted in a seaweed)

Congrats! Assuming it's reindeer....i think it will be. The game does surprise sometimes but it sure looks to me like it would be reindeer. I don't think it would be storm or seaweed but it could be...

My husband just laughs so far but not sure how he'll feel as the addiction continues, hehe.

I will get it to you asap though. I'm so concerned I pay everyone back that I stay up every night til 1am to send them out..seems like it adds minutes every day so it gets later and later. At some point I will have to wait until morning. Guess it will only delay them 8 hours or so anyways. Hahaha I just need to get my hubby addicted! Then we can do it together lol

What? Really? I wish I would get that lucky. Well if you want start a list like I and other's do. Makes it easier to remember who needs one back. Having a lot of friends on here is great and should keep everyone getting quite a few daily as long as everyone sends them out to those that send them Now I have to go see if I can possibly send out some gems! Lol If not I have a hour and half to go til 1 am *yawns*

I seem to have stalled after I got my Sun but I wonder if I'm just expecting too much? I mean, I have taken a break now I'm trying for the reindeer (approx 3 hours till I find out if I have one to incubate!) but it still seems like I've tried sooo many times with no new rares to show for it. Ah well, will just have to keep trying!

Yeah it would be nice if my park layout did actually help me breed the dragons I wanted but I'm pretty sure it doesnt but I still like the idea/look. My quiet island has only water and air habitats for pleasant ambient noise (no Quakes or Sonics to disturb the peace, heh), no paths go past - there is a tree barrier to screen, the library is there (of course you have to be quiet in the library!), I didn't put a DragINN there so no one can stay the night (there is a buffet near the entrance portal but that's as far from the breeding/hatching area as possible) and then there's a nice open lawn area to relax on when it's not snowing, hehe. See?! I thought it through!
Of course the new, dedicated island would be even more quiet but I'm guessing only that one might actually increase your chances. Trying to resist buying gems...not sure I'll make it...

I don't think I could stay up so late just for that, I'd definitely wait for the next morning, hehe. Then again I have almost no gems coming in as yet so it was pretty easy to wait till it was a more convenient time for me to start giving again. I don't mind giving and not receiving back every time (I understood people had more friends to spread gems between than I did or that they didn;t play every day) but it gets a little frustrating when I was giving to the same people every day and only got one back.
I think my hubby might like the game if he played but he has no device to even try it yet (my iPhone is our first smartphone etc) and I'm not sure he'd allow himself the time at the moment.

Yes, weird glitch but was nice to give away a couple more gems. I will definitely be starting a list. I haven't actually received any gems back from my latest gifting but I have a piece of paper just waiting/hoping :thumbs:
edited to add: I had turned my phone off and on a couple of times to get people I'd accepted in Game Center showing in DragonVale...not sure if this 'helped' make the glitch occur?!

I got the plant, earth, fire, and lightning shrines finally but the cold, air, and water shrines are gonna take a while. Hope you all get them soon. Breed on!!

Hey brooklyn. Which shrine/s became available at level 22? Just wanted to get a head start on the new one. Ive already completed plant and fire using the flower dragon over and over! Thanks!!

Oh thanks SnuggleTM! It's nice to talk to another Australian DragonVale fan AND to hear it's worth the upgrade! I'll be doing that soon then, it sounds like a much better deal time-wise, thankfully (why would anyone ever buy Pumpermelons again??? I know it's still cheaper per item but not having to wait 6 hours. I guess you'd only do it if you were strapped for coin etc)

When your playing click on the friend tab and you'll see you're friends and be able to send 3 gems a day

I can't do it..it's always askking to go login in on facebook and said to invite friends. But i tried already still no luck.. I can't see my friends either on facebook or gamecenter..anyone could help i am willing to gift u gems.. Thankss!!!

Are you on an iPad or iPhone? For my iPhone I had to go into settings, general, restrictions and then turn on multiplayer games and adding friends. Hope that helps you.
