Bye bye hostess :(

But I'm not too sad because I have these:

Word on the street is Hostess Brands may go out of business. Wonder if that means the end of "Twinkies" and "Ding Dongs"? Gasp!

Oh ... Wonder Bread too!

I felt bad until I read about the circumstances. Bye bye twinkies....

Gosh you had me worried then.....just love those too.

First trip to the US I discovered them.....remembered them from a Seinfeld episode actually and just had to try them

Loaded up on them and brought them home....didn't last long though! :(

But we have them here now....can't go past them without buying some! ;)

That's a great post, Leelai! I remember as a kid visiting Montreal and discovered pop rocks. I loved it and remember buying 10 packs of it! :) They didn't start making it here until years later, so it was a real unique candy for me! :)

I remember my kids discovering those....one of the few of their favorite lollies I liked!

What a sensation the first time you tried them! ;)

These are my favourites at the moment

My store just started selling chocolate covered potato chips. I'll post a photo when I see them in stock.

I don't think I have eaten Hostess foods. However, a lot of their lines look very naughty, but nice. So farewell to those calorie laden lines. :). For now?

Hostess's Ho Ho line looks very similar to Cadbury mini chocolate Swiss Rolls. Now Cadbury - taken over by Kraft! Another iconic British manufacturer was bought out :(

BTW. It could be interesting to draw up a chart of what could replace what of the Hostess lines. For example, could the various doughnuts jam filled, sugary, mini ones, or doughnut twists covered in icing sugar be substitutes? ;)

My post on Anything Goes ...
... I'm replying on the Food Thread in tribute to successors of Hostess : D

More... I too love Haagen Dazs. Years back they were promoting a new flavour. At Victoria Railway Station they were giving out free tubs of choc and peppermint chip icecream. The tubs were in dinky insulated bags. Imagine the queue for the goodies. I managed to circle round for a couple of extra give always. I missed my train, but all in a good cause ! :D
