What's new

Food anyone?

I've just seen an ad for the newest pizza here.....

Do you guys have the cheese stuffed pizza.....where around the outside of the pizza the crust is filled with cheese?

Well now they have one where the crust is now filled with a hotdog sausage....gees, what will they come up with next.

I've seen the hot dog stuffed crust pizza and the cheese stuffed crust pizza, we have both in Regina.

At least they don't have kangaroo stuffed crust pizza, at least I hope they don't. I've seen kangaroo meat for sale in the Queen Victoria market in Melbourne.

Wow Sci....I was at the Queen Victoria market in Melbourne last Sunday! Did you buy any of those jam filled donuts?

You never know......kangaroo meat is for sale everywhere now......we had some sausages a few weeks ago....or should I say I had 1 little bite and just couldn't stomach the idea of eating kangaroo. It just doesn't seem right to be eating a national icon!

Kangaroos are in plague proportions up north and they cull a certain number of them each year as they can cause a lot of damage to crops etc. Kangaroo meat is even exported!

Sorry, I didn't get to try any of the jam filled donuts. I visited on my last day in Australia before flying home to Canada and was a bit rushed. So much to see and not enough time.

I like Italian pizza, too. Different than what we usually think of as pizza, but tasty.

I used to eat a lot of Greek pizza when I lived in CT. No real Italian pizza places there that I knew of.

The donuts are a bit of an institution at those markets....I still remember the first time I tried them....little fluffy pieces of heaven......a shame it didn't hold true this time though. ;)

I hope you enjoyed your time here.....did you visit any other cities on your trip?

I was there for the Word Science Fiction Convention in 2010. I didn't see much outside Melbourne, but I did go to Ballarat and visited Sovereign Hill. I also took a ride on Puffing Billy and missed being the 9 millionth passenger by mere minutes.:(

Melbourne is known for its unpredictable weather.....you can have 4 seasons in a day there and we certainly found it to be true on our recent trip. I hope it was kind to you!

I'm glad you got to see some more rural areas when you were here, well I think you have anyway.

Gees, what a shame you missed out being the 9 millionth passenger.....I'm wondering what you would have received.

The winner was seated next to me on the train and they received a prize package, free tickets for the trip and a free dinner train ticket package. The train ride through the fern trees was quite exciting. There's a feeling of closeness to the environment on the train that you never experience wile driving in a car.

Love the tree ferns down that way......we drove on some rural roads which were lined with them....so so beautiful!

I've never been on one of those trains.....would be very nice though.

That was quite a prize you missed.....close, but not close enough! ;)

We have the cheese stuffed version, but I haven't seen the sausage stuffed ones yet. So rest easy, Leelai :)

Writing this reminds me of the toad on the hole which we cooked up the other day. The left overs went down well with left over chicken soup last night :) :)

So we're not the last Richard! Well that's something new!

Toad on the hole? That doesn't sound like anything I'd like to eat! ;)

I've been away so must have missed this very unusual delight!
