What's new

Food anyone?

Waking up and having my oatmeal. I'm trying to doctor is a little with a bit of brown sugar and green apples. Also having toasted Italian bread with cheddar cheese slices on top. Finally downing it with a strong brewed coffee!! :)

Time to wake up!!

Oatmeal is very healthy. I've had oatmeal and dry toast every morning for the past decade and my doctor says that may be the reason my blood pressure is 110 over 78 at 50 years of age. Good choice of breakfast :)

Hmm, did you say that oatmeal is healthy? <note to self; don't eat oatmeal cos nothing that is healthy is ever fun> now, where did I put that massive steak and the Jack Daniels sauce?

I hear you, I try to eat oatmeal for breakfast everyday. Sometimes it gets a little boring, but I try to force myself because I know it's good for me!

Argh! State Of Origin used to be shown live over here but it doesn't look like it is year!!!!! What is the point of snacks when there is no SOO?

What kind of snacks? Chips?

I made some really good pizza last night using flat out bread! It was a great version of a thin crush pizza! Yum!!

Im not that into chips.....I've discovered a new popcorn, sweet and salty, it's just so good and I can't stop until I've eaten the whole darn packet!

Then I had some strawberries and Brie cheese! Love Brie best with watermelon, but my fruiter didn't bring me one. ;)

I love popcorn...any kind. Your sweet and salty popcorn sounds really good, too!

I have never had brie with fruit before. It's always with bread...I may have to try it with fruit....especially with the watermelon. How do you keep the cheese on the watermelon without it breaking off?

Brie is just so good with fruit.....I had never tried it before I married......Greeks mix lots of different food but they are onto a winner here.

I prefer it with watermelon, also great with rockmelon. I use a knife and fork, I cut slim wedges of watermelon and a piece of Brie....it's very nice and refreshing even!

Try it, I'm sure you will love it too! ;)

Yesterday, I bought 2 boxes of 6 fresh hen's eggs on the Market.

Unfortunately I dropped the bag and broke 6 eggs. So we had a plain 6 egg omelette with finely chopped onions along with a green salad.

Boy, I have forgotten how tasty an omelette is when fresh eggs are used. :)

In the end, That was a happy accident. ;)

Brie and Cranberry is just a classic combination but really most fruits work with it. Now, Brie covered with almonds and baked in the oven served with crusty bread, that is just wonderful!

I used to work in an office with a guy who lived on a farm, he would bring me a box of fresh eggs regularly......I've never tasted anything as good before or since (egg-wise that is). It was eggcelent and I was eggstatic!

Agreed. I've had the farm fresh and they're superior.

I grew up in a rural community which was also the location of a county egg grading station. I remember my father taking me there to watch the process. Each egg was held up to a light for inspection. Occasionally some were discarded.
Another person (small operation) would put the graded eggs in flats.

I love Tabasco sauce on almost everything. Yesterday I decided to add it to a bowl of Mac & Cheese and was pleasantly surprised, it was a delicious blend. Any other hot sauce lovers out there who have tried this?

Not Tabasco, but Tapatio on home made Mac-n-cheese, Mmmmmm!!

I really love crushed Nacho Cheese Doritos in Hormel chili, I also like either the Doritos (not crushed) or Fritos on a bologna and cheese on white bread sandwich. Not sure I can explain it, but those are things I eat when no one is around, and they are fun.

Interestingly I grew up in a city with a zoo, I had seen tigers, polar bears and elephants before I saw a cow or a sheep......boy those cows seemed like the size of a house compared to the little plastic one I had in my toy box!!!
