What's new

Gardening!

Yes, you have a lovely garden Richard. I wish I can also do the same but time won't allow me to. One thing I love having a home garden is that, it was indeed a great stress buster.

Well, the furniture looks bright white again. I'm waiting for the other bench and chair to rub down and paint. Lawn is mown, pots repotted, nettles got rid of, dining room cleared of all the summer geraniums. Very tired but back to school today. I ache in every conceivable place

Wow Richard...
The only things I seem to be able to grow without inadvertently killing are dandylions and jalapeños. The dandylions I'm not trying to grow, obviously, but I was very proud of my jalapeños for about three years; I'd make fresh pico de gayo for family and friends, etc. it was - and still is - very popular. But the balloon of my pride took a sharp needle the other day when when I was talking to a professional landscaper who told me that jalapeños are like dandylions; they grow anywhere and are very hardy; theyre very hard to kill.
(unlike my pride.)

Lovely garden Richard. My style is more natural, kinda like yours I bet Hay. We did create a very lovely and magical fairy garden this year!

Thanks Ann. My wife is chief gardener. We both have time to tend the garden, and it can be hard work at times, but worth it.

Thanks Fleur. I'm hoping we can uncover the garden furniture and relax. :)

My sympathies Hayley. My back has cleared up this morning, after 2 days of agony. Pewees. (spellcheck! I just typed Owwww!)

Looking forward to your photos.

Yes, I keep forgetting. Thanks Fleur. My garden has many 'rooms' with a meandering path. One minute a pond, the next a chicken coop

The garden and veg are looking mighty fine at the moment. Beans, radishes, peas are up and shooting. I haven't lost any of the repotted plants yet! Might be going onto patio today. Let's hope sun stays and warms things up otherwise I have to dress warmly.

Here are some of my flowers and also my garden. I planted a perennial flower called a columbine. It is the red/white flowering plant seen. I planted that flowering plant in memory of a friend's loved one who recently passed this month. He didn't have a garden-so I wanted to plant something in memory of her. It will come in bloom every year in May in honor of her.

You have a nice space for your garden Skimokey. We also like columbines / aquilegias. We gather the seeds and replant each year,as well as allowing natural regeneration. After 3 generations the hybrids revert to their native colour and small flower.

Lordy, your gardens make mine look a mess! I battle the wilderness daily. Bindweed, nettles, Ivy, my russian vine, etc... I wish I could wave a magic wand and make it pretty with one swish!

Skimonkey, Agreed with everyone on the compliments of your lovely garden

RIP Steve Jobs 

Thank you, Guys! I believe every garden is a beautiful one because it shows the love put into it. What makes gardening so enjoyable is to see our babies come up every year after a cold winter. I am glad that you enjoyed it.

These are the early bloomers, I still have my echinancea, day Lillie's, delphinea to come in June nd July. Love this time of the year!

We/I have observed or experienced loss in May...that was my purpose in sharing my flowers with you to remember those we have lost recently. RIP.
