Oh Richard-that would have been great to watch. I thought of you and your wife when I was watering some of my columbines!

This is such a great time of year. My roses are full on except for the new dawn; the iris is blooming and the peonies are starting. I'm trying to figure out how to post a picture but not having much success. Can I do it from the pics on my iPad 3?

Yes, you can! At the top right is a button called advanced and you select from either photos or camera etc... Choose photo and you are good to go! I love roses. My favourite is Deep Secret, Chinatown, New Dawn, Scentimental....... The list is huge 50+ maybe more in my garden.

Don't see a button called advanced in the top right of reply to thread is it someplace else? The picture button asks for A URL or something from a computer. I only have iPad. I think I'm in the app, but maybe I'm not. Sorry, I get confused.

50 roses sounds really exciting. I only have a few. Several knockouts, new dawn, an altissima, fairy and a pink I can't remember the name of but big or small gardens are wonderful places.

I think I found it.

So Joe Swift got gold at Chelsea. The weather has turned out great for the show

I'm sure we have wren nesting just behind the screen I put up to cover the dying hedge at the back of our garden. I tried to get a photo, but s/he vanished.

Hopefully I will get a photo today.

It's very noisy for such a small bird!

Richard your wren is my cardinals nesting in a nearby bush next to our cars at the end of our driveway. They can get quite loud and zoom right next to you of you get too close! We now have to park a little further back in our driveway to avoid getting bird bombed!

I'm pleased that I can post pics thank you for your help. I'm envious of those of you who live in England. It must be wonderful to be able to go to the Chelsea flower show.
There are some beautiful parts of my garden but then there are swaths of weeds. But any green is nice.

That's a lovely garden Bennettb. You are lucky to have so much space. The theme on the BBC2 Chelsea garden last night was wild gardens, planting meadows etc. A celebrity was getting tips on her garden. Alan Titchmrsh, the main presenter, advised her on a plant which suppresses invasive grass, allowing meadow flowers to grow.

There was a touch of nostalgia when the late Geoff Hamilton's son appeared as a guest presenter. We remember Geoff as if it were yesterday.
