What's new

Gardening!

I have a neibour who seems very dissatisfied with his terrain. He is the gravel grinder and he has been rearranging the whole side of the hill! I'm glad he has grazers because all that grass cutting would make me weep.My old neighbours beside me hired my friend to cut and it took a bit of talking but I convinced him to cut the 2acres and weed eat the rudy edges when I was out every Sat all day.

The weather has been quite non-compliant to gardening. However, I managed to partially mulch some of my garden before the rain!

Hey snap! Unfortunately, my 'rescued' chickens saved from being made into pies have grown all their missing feathers back and love to mulch around in my lovely tidy areas. I have to sweep my paths every day. I will have to clip their wings.

I knew I was missing something from my garden...chickens! Sure would have made the job easier! I still have half way to go, but the weather turned and I had to go in! :(

Oops! Forgot to mention they are kept in a fenced area due to foxes and they are flying out of it. I'd rather the fox doesn't have chicken for tea.

Here we go.

Our azaleas today. This is the best year for them.

Great views, Richard. You've certainly put a lot of time into making your garden look as good as it does.

Just beautiful Richard!

Your azaleas are just stunning......my mothers favourite also!

Thank you both. It's taken my wife 20 years, and me 17 years at weekends then 3 years to develop our garden.

We do enjoy it.

I'm thinking of adding a restrictive covenant to our house deeds to prevent the next owners from converting the front garden into a paved over car park.

The loss of front gardens to car parks is of huge huge concern in the UK. The main reasons for the concern are the accumulated loss of green space and open soil to take rainwater run off.
